good point. I've seen chrysler's Parent company Fiat/Maserati announce that the 2014 (not 2013) all newly designed Quattroporte is now available to be ordered for summer 2013 delivery.

Worrying about depreciation over model year designation when buying a $100k car, that will have $10k in taxes seems a bit silly.

please read a little more carefully! Not concerned about depreciation just doesn't sit well that my $125k car will be considered a year old model after 3-4 months.

They did this in 2008 with the first ACR builds. Mine was ready end of September 2008.

Does anyone that actually have orders in really feel that concerned?

I do not. Mine will get here when it gets here.

Anyone that hasn't bought in, is just complaining to complain.

Well, I'm not too concerned, I want them to take their time and work the bugs out. However, the nice weather is just around the corner, I want to have this dream machine to enjoy all summer, and at least part of Spring. I think it's reasonable to expect an update from SRT, similar to the one they sent to dealerships a while back that said late February was the delivery date. My guess is that we'll see a letter like that very soon.

I feel the same as Jon, I expected late March - which gives me plenty of time to enjoy it this year.

While I don't expect September, pushing it off to April, May, June sort of changes the equation a bit.

Seeing as SRT hasn't said much, it is a bit bothersome.

I do agree I want them to put out a perfect car, but - be up front about it. People are more understanding if there is transparency and dialogue.

I sent Ralph a tweet yesterday asking for some official information but it went ignored. I agree with those above who opined that we won't see custom order cars until April.

I agree with both of you. driving season is limited in northeast for me. I would prefer SRT just be honest and say April, May, June etc.

Only disconcerting if you don't understand the difference between MY and CY.

If I recall don't Vipers usually run Jan to Jan model year? Regardless, wouldn't you be somewhat pissed after taking delivery of a brand new car ( that you waited very long and patiently for), and within no time were able to order the next years model.

Here's the latest from one of the big 3 Viper dealers.

CAAP started producing 2013 Vipers 02/11/13 there are a couple in ( I ) status as of today. ( I ) Status means Inspection. No Vipers will be shipped till mid March at the earliest. I notice some people say they have built and shipped Vipers. that is not correct SRT tells me. I had a opportunity to sit in and drive a 2013 GTS

I own a 2008 ACR that is what I’m comparing the 2013. So many changes inside and outside improvements. The fit and finish is 100% better than my 08. the GTS is so much quieter inside driving at 70 MPH. Had so much fun just moving the gauges and syncing up my phone. Made a couple calls and the people could here me like I was driving my wife’s Durango. I also used the adjustable suspension and Launch control.

You will be more than very pleased and proud of every new 2013 Viper.

This update is from GK...

Hey Nation......

Just got off the phone with the team. Here's what I can report. The launch continues to go well, although slowly. As is normal, the team is working with the suppliers to help get them up to speed. Cars are coming off the line every day. The majority are the First Edition models. The big issue is the CARB certification which has not not yet been received, without it no cars can be shipped. It is anticipated next month. The order bank is currently closed but I'm told will be open shortly for additional orders.........hope this helps.....GK

There was a video posted here a few weeks ago where Ralph said the same thing. The CARB cert is what is holding it up.

In an off the wall way, consider this to be a good thing. Ralph not having any time to "Tweet" hopefully means he is spending his time on the car. I do not know him personally, but from what I have seen and heard of him, I can't think of any other CEO that is a passionate about one specific car than him.
