I have heard things have been moving very well the last 2 weeks. My dealer says my car (400008) is scheduled for framing April 14th. Here's hoping!
We'll all know a lot more after the Ohio club tours CAAP in a few weeks.

This all really doesn't make much sense. I thought they had cranked around 170 as of last week (according to someone posting something from auto news)

If LE were right after the first, how is this possible?

Totally confused

Recent info I've heard contradicts the 170 number, and is in line with the above that they haven't yet completed the LE's. Then come the red track pack cars, then the custom orders. Unfortunately, I'm thinking June delivery for mine. Truth is, nobody knows for sure, as they haven't yet received CARB certification.

I heard they were running the red dealer demo GTS cars, the Launch Editions and the 100 red special SRT cars which are all the same, concurrently. After that run of approximately 300 cars, the custom cars will start. This is good information and will be confirmed when the Ohio club tours CAAP.

Even IF I were on the list for a Gen V I would not care about delays. I am looking outside at several inches of standing water, a few feet of melting snow, constant rain and roads that are rivers. Viper weather is still 2 months away at least.

very true. but two months from now is gonna come in a flash and how many will be built? 500 out of 800 orders?

as a second waver, i'm wondering if i'll get switched to MY 2014 at this point. fingers are still crossed for June though.:eater:

Well, I disagree a bit. Consider Chevy will pump out the C7 in Sept.

If custom orders don't arrive until June, that's a three month difference - in a product that was debuted an entire year later...

All id be happy with is an actual firm date, this whole "well maybe sometime this year" has gotten old.

Because the C7 is a hand built car? Exactly as you said, Chevy will pump out the C7.
One robotic build after another..

yup AND when I bought my 2007 C6 vert right off the showroom floor for mid 60's and then lost 50% value in two years I realized that I really didnt have anything special. So I switched to and built exotic supercars like Lamborghini Bentley and now the Gen V. They're all still depreciating assets, but not to that extent.

Seems like we are getting more towards the Ferrari style with the Fiat ownership. You get it when you get it gets a bit old, IMO. SRT has been a bit quiet with this obvious issue.

i don't find the vehicles being late a problem, i find them being late without reason a problem. it obviously isn't carb alone, seeing as they have built so few so far.

well to be fair they did say they'd start about 12 builds per day so thats some guidance. but then they put out a search engine by name & VON or VIN that works for some and not others. so why have it? the CEO tweets constantly but I'd agree on this issue its very grey....and frustrating. requires patience which is why I'm looking into a R8 Spyder V10 for the spring (in addition to, not instead of the viper order) so i'll be guaranteed something new this year either way

Well there appears to be some movement. My car 400066 switched to "Frame" status this week also. Hope the Ohio people taking the tour can
roll up their sleeves and push it along... it'll be one of those shiny red cars.

I mean, I am in software - so I get shipping delays. I am sympathetic to rolling out new products, very sympathetic.

But, it would be nice to have explanations, I think everyone is understanding.

I am pretty sure the explanation given for the last 3 months is CARB certification has yet to happen.

Which doesn't quite make sense (to me). Why would CARB hold up building them? I can understand shipping - but not building.

If they are still waiting on CARB (as in it could impact the engine design if it failed or whatever) - they wouldn't have built any yet.
