After breaking my last Viper coffee table, while moving last year, and making end tables out of it, I decided it was time to take on another winter project. I picked up the parts at VOI12 last year, and bought it back home, well, after an encounter at customs with trying to explain to them that it was NOT a working engine and would not be put in my car! They let me go, without a fine, this time.:) By the way, if someone has an old Gen 1 or 2 block, with pistons and valve covers, that they want to get rid of, please let me know. I have a friend who wants one built.

How about some close-ups of the hinge for the valve covers.
Here's some photos of the hinge, and some of the built in cork screw, and how we got the look of the pistons coming through the glass. Thanks everyone for the positive feedback.

Never seen it executed with flipping valve covers and bottle holders in this way, very creative and it looks awesome!

Yeah, I thought it was going to be a simple table project. I have another block, I am going to try to replicate it. That is absolutely cool as hell.

Hey Shawn, where did you get the glass done? Were the emblems etched or are they vinyl stickers? Can you post up a few more detailed pictures?

Mike, The glass was cut at our local speedy auto glass, the emblems are stickers. Unfortunately I did not take alot of photos of the build. But I will see what I can find this weekend and post. Or I can Email you. If you come across another block that you are not going to use let me know. We are going to Carlisle in July. I think thats in your neck of the woods. So if you find one, we could do the same as VOI.

Cheers Shaun.
