Easy and economical way to install cup holder in the console( other than bringing a passenger to hold onto your drink.) Went to boat supply store brought 3" insert plastic cup holder $3.50, plus hole saw 3" at Canadian tire for $9.99 econo model as you are only cutting into plastic. The measurement is 5 1/4 inches from rear console line and 4 1/2 inches from passenger side of console - 60 second later we have a cup holder installed for under 15 dollars

i have been looking into this too, how did you determine where to drill w/o hitting wires or cables (if any under there?)

do you know if it could be more centered?

i saw the inserts on amazon, how deep are the ones you used?

thanks

It has to go there, thats the only spot where its deep enough and clear of all wires etc. Originally I was looking to install two, you will see why only one works after drilling.

The glovebox holder is cool, but looks like it could interfere some when driving , judging by the pictures

If some would like I could post pictures with the cup out. Then you can see whats below.

Also you can get stainless steel cup holders if you are looking for another look

I am sorry but I don't think any cup is worth that hole. Again just my opinion. That was one thing I liked about the Viper is that it is back to basics.

Wal-Mart/Amazon cup holder. Under $5 and no drilling required. I've had one for years. Only used it a few times, but no problems with spills or anything tipping out of it. It wedges between the console and passenger seat

Mod the hell out of it...cut whatever you want...paint it whatever color. My house is worth a bit more than my viper, but these guys probably don't care what gets cut on it. It's a freakin' car. :rolaugh:

I love it when people complain about what you do to your own car to make it more comfortable/enjoyable! Enjoy your beer holder.

More comfortable/enjoyable.... go figure, you must be a Canadian!!!!

Man I feel like going back to a European Car with all these crap mods people do to their Vipers....

Dude...Relax...take a deep breath. Adding a cup holder doesn't even come close to the dolphin paint job. Have you had a bad weekend?
