I should finally have my, new to me, 1997 GTS by the end of this week, or early next week. I already know that it is blowing hot air when the AC is set to cold. I've read the $4 to fix my A/C thread, and I would like to try that first. But, I am not very handy with a wrench, or very knowledgeable with this engine bay. So, I was wondering if there is anyone near Tampa that has done this (or not) who I can meet with to guide me through the process. I learned very early in my life that sometimes I can do more damage than good when I try to "fix" things.

Please let me know. Thanks!

Every year after storing over the winter my AC needs recharged. I just use the recharge kits from the local auto supply store. The seals tend to dry up and leak from lack of use, but it holds a charge just fine as long as I'm driving it at least once a week. I'm not sure any "fix" would prevent ac leakage from a car that sits for months on end.

Are you the one buying Krystian's car? You should come out to Cars & Coffee this Saturday...I'll hopefully have mine back in time.

Yes that's me but unfortunately I'm working this Saturday. I work every other Saturday. So sometimes I will be able to make it to the car show and sometimes I won't be able to. I am looking really looking forward to hanging out with other viper owners though!!!!

Awesome! You're in good hands. I was with Krystian when we picked up the car and drove it back from Texas...I even got to drive it for a couple hours. You are getting a killer deal. I'm glad it's staying local.

The O-rings are very simple to replace. I accessed the compressor by going up inside the frame rail behind the driver's side front tire (with tire removed and car jacked up). The two O-rings on the compressor are right there and they're different sizes.

I also replaced two O-rings on the condenser since I had the front bumper cover off. Reason I did this is because I noticed one of the blocks where the condenser connects was dirty and oily from a leak. These two O-rings, on either side of the condenser, are the same size and equal in size to the smaller of the compressor O-rings.

Four O-rings in total... Blows 52º at the vent now.
