Has anyone run a cable from the back of the Radio into the Trunk on a SRT 10?

Installing a Nav Unit but want to keep my CD's. Am adding a slave CD Changer in the trunk and having a heck of a time trying to find a place to run the connector cable from the Radio/Nav Head Unit into the Trunk.
Any ideas out there? So far, I've got the cable run from the back of the Head unit, down the inside of the Passenger Side Carpet and up behind the back seat but am stuck there. Help!

If you follow the wire loom from your trunk lid lights, it runs down to the deck on the drivers side. There is a bit of a split where the weather stripping connects to the bulkhead cover. You can slip a cable through there and down the driver side of the bulkhead cover. Then just tuck it under your door sill trim and into the foot well. Should be able to figure out the rest from there. Only issue is how you physically get the wire right inside the trunk now. I am running a back up cam, so I don't have this issue since I just run the cable up into the trunk lid. But if I needed a cable right inside the trunk I would probably just drill a hole for it under the trunk lid weather stripping and then silicone it once the wire is through to prevent water getting in the trunk. If I had a lift though, I would snoop around and see how the battery cables are routed to the front and run the cable that way.

Does the 12V power come thru that connector cable? There's not a 12 volt/key-switched line in the trunk, either, it's all lights and turn signals (unless you count the electric fuel pump, but I wouldn't tap into that).

Green viper- heh, CDs are fading fast, but I do like the newer radio head units that allow you to copy and store CDs internally just like a PC (for those who still have CDs!).

Assuming your new unit has USB connection, you could just add an external drive up front and call the day.

I think people were just trying to be helpful and give you a suggestion you might not have thought of. Definitely makes more sense to buy an Ipod and hook it up in your glove box, as opposed to spending more on a trunk CD player that will also kill your already non-existent storage space.

For my rear fog light that I had to fit to pass UK registration, I ran the cables from the gap behind the start button, so the same area as the head unit, They ran under the centre console by poking through into the passenger foot well from the radio area then pushing it up under the lip of the centre console beside the seat, at the back I fed the end up the panel behind the seat into the void behind the access panel for the harnesses/kiddy seat, once its all in there some fiddeling, maybe some screw removal and by reaching into the the panel through the harness hole you can pull the whole thing to run freely under the centre console and up beside the speakers. From there you can pull off the side panel to the trunk above the fuel tank, start from the back and pull it out from under the weather stripping, you don't need to go all the way, but from about half way you can feed your end from the harness access panel through so you can grab if from the back. From there you can drop it onto the trunk. I had to drill through into the tail light area behind the carpet for my fog light which is in the third (innermost) brake light position. If you want it on the drivers side just turn right at the top of the speakers instead of left.

I've read it at least a dozen times trying to decipher what he is talking about. And I'm starting to think he has a coupe??

Ah sorry ignore me, mine is a gen 4 coupe, I should have taken better notice of your avatar, mine was deleted when I fell out with the VCA.

Tape the wire to a coat hanger and fish it though

Fish it through what?? That's the issue is that there is nowhere to fish anything through?

Just got mine done last night. I would've done it sooner but I didn't have a jack to get under the car.

First I jacked up the rear driver side and pulled that wheel off. Then remove the fender liner, really simple just a bunch of screws and one 3/8" bolt. Don't forget the small screw right underneath the exhaust tip.

Then open the trunk and pull the battery cover off.

With the trunk lid up you can see a hole for water to drain along the edge. I fished the cable down there and then pulled it out in the wheel well. From the wheel well I fished the power cable up into the battery box right where the battery cable harness runs along the frame rail. You can then hook your inline fuse up right at the battery if you're running a power cable like me. In your case I would drill a hole in the battery cover, and use a grommet to get the line into the trunk.

From the hole on the trunk deck, I ran the cable along the side towards the front, then fished it through the trim/weather stripping and into the cab. I had my bulkhead cover off already since I was installing a sub box. From here you can run the cable however you see fit as there is many options at this point to just tuck it under trim wherever you want.

I would highly suggest looming the cable all the way. There is lots of spots it could rub, and the last thing you want if it's a power cable is for it to short out on the frame somewhere.
