that looks ridiculous. the matte black phenomenon does nothing for me. I never thought I'd see a day where people are "wrapping" and spray painting their vipers with a coating used for tool handles (plastidip). I'd leave it for the 17-18 year olds with honda civics to mess with. :D

At least it's not chrome, not until Bieber buys one anyway. It is a little played out, but I do get it, it's mad max like and different - although not so much any more. I wouldn't do it, but yea, I get what they're shooting for with it. But, I'm more mad max than lime green or yellow, lol, although I feel a little magenta at the moment .. enuff of that.

Thanks for sharing the vid.

I've seen a matte Lamborghini before that looked amazing.

This matte job just looks like primer.

Good... so I'm not the only one that thinks this is the quickest way to turn a gem into a lump of coal.

Not a fan of wraps or vinyl decals, period. They make any vehicle look cheap when you can see the edges and seams. A good matte paint job can look very nice, however. Matte body colors are a fad that is going out of style, it was cool about 4-5 yrs ago, IMHO.

Matte grey and black are too dull. I saw a matte green SLS that was pretty nice. My biggest issue with it is that the upkeep is a nightmare. My Camaro has a matte hood. You can't touch it or the fingerprints stand out like a sore thumb, lol. You have to use special matte car wash soap or it gets a weird half-shiny look. God forbid if you use detail spray or wax on it, it's more or less ruined (unless again, it's matte detailer). On this bright orange muscle car, the matte black really looks good, but it's a pain in the ass. I could see a carbon fiber hood in its future :D Oh wait, this is my low cost track car. The factory matte vinyl hood wrap will have to do.

I still think it can be done tastefully. Problem is, like stated above, when it is wrapped, it looks cheap.

when I first looked at this car I thought it was a Mustang with a aftermarket grill LOL

Clearly nobody here knows that painting your car matte black or primer grey is the easiest way to make it a sleeper. That way when you go street racing you can hustle more money, because nobody will expect a matte grey viper to be as fast as one with clearcoat.

Other performance tips that most viper owners probably don't know about is how to hide your shot of NOS. What you do is peel a label off your favorite soda bottle and apply it to your NOS bottle. You take the NOS bottle label and put it on the soda bottle. When someone calls you out to race, you say "FINE BUT NO NOS THIS TIME" and show them that your NOS bottle (actually soda) is disconnected and full of soda. If they ask why you have a bottle of pepsi with a hose on it, just tell them that you have a soda fountain mod in your glove box. Now here is the tricky part - when you race them, you secretly use your NOS even though you said you wouldn't...guaranteed win, and the sucker has to pay you!

Don't expect to find this kind of insider info on wikipedia.

These are Viper panels as the arrive to the painter Prefix - they come with primer on them on the surfaces that will be painted.

Ha! I'm in that picture :)

On topic, if I were to get a matte wrap, I'd pick a different color. As for that SRT, not bad, but could be better.
