tire fender gap right???

Hi Guys,

I just had Gen III rims and tires put on my Gen I. they look awesome and I am very happy with the results. Either way, I was jacking up the car in the rear today and as the car got higher and the tire start to lift off the ground, it began to touch the front of the inner fender. I dont remember this happening with my old 17's. I have taken a picture of when the car is back on the ground so you can see the the tire and how close it is to the front. Both sides are identical and neither side seems to have anything bent, broken, or cracked. Just looking for conformation that this is correct...I hope.

Not an expert but looks fine to me. If you had a problem you would know while driving,....I assume you have driven it with the rims already.

had the same issue on the drivers side rear on my GTS when i went to 19" wheels....... fixed it with a proper alignment.

I have the same issue, only at full droop. It's just a result of the larger OD tires. Experienced it with both stock SRT-10 wheels/tires and my 18/19 Forgeline setup with SRT-size Michelin Super Sports.

thanks for the info guys. Being that I am not a larger OD, how much is it throwing off my speedo and should is there a speed healer for this?

I'll assume you meant to say that you ARE a larger OD, as that SRT setup is roughly 1" larger tire diameter, which equates to roughly a 9.5% speedo impact. You can run a speedo calibration box from someone like Unitrax to adjust for the difference. Other option is just add a nice, round 10% mental bump to your speedo when cruising.

sorry, my apologies. You are correct, I AM a larger OD. ok so 10% is a good round # for me.

What you are seeing is just the positive camber being exposed as you relieve the weight of the car. You likely never noticed it before with the smaller wheels.
You're probably just fine but as mentioned before, a good alignment will set your mind at ease.

I agree. I think i am going to order lowering caps and just have them installed and alignment done at the same time.
