want to switch from run flats!!

I would like to switch from run flats. I have an 03 SRT, what does everyone recommend? I dont track the car, would I need to get new TPS sensors?

I guess what im asking is what would I need to swap from run flats to non run flats, and what does everyone recommend?

You can keep your existing wheels / sensors. Not sure if it is worth changing sensors while you have the tires off due to battery life? I heard someone say they can last 7 years+. New sensors will require the serial numbers to be programmed into the system so it is a bit more involved.

One good tire option is the Michelin Pilot Super Sports, I recently put a pair on and they work well.

3rd the Michelin. I had the Original runflats still on the car from 2006. Lastmonth I changed to the michelin Super Sport. What a difference. The car now realy sticks to the road and handles much better.

Michelin PS2s, which have now been superceded by the Super Sport. What 99.99% of us use.

I switched to the PS2 when I bought my car 3 years ago, and when they need replacing, will use the Super Sport. The runflats were dangerous when new. I saw an 04 at show on Saturday, which the original ZPs. Only 3000 miles on the car, but they are still 10 year old tires. She wouldn't listen to me...

Fourth on the Super Sports. I bought mine from VPA last summer and it changed the car dramatically. VPA's price was awesome as well.

If you still have the run flats, you should swap them to currently offered tires due to age. If the tpms sensors are the original ones, you should change them as well because their batteries are past their anticipated lifespan.

By all means shed the run flats, they are dangerous, especially with any age on them. They are hard and react badly to cool weather. replacements are commonly Michelin PS'2's or the Michelin super sports. The Viper you save might be yours....

The Super Sports are probably the best tire currently available for the Viper. -for street/all around use.
...I haven't tried them yet though.

I have previously been through a few sets of Nitto Invos.
These are great for the street/highway. If cost is any consideration, I think the Invo is unbeatable.

As an added bonus driving in the rain feels a lot more planted on the road. My 2 cents

Have had on Kumhos, Nittos, and the MSS. Already got another set of MSS in the garage. They are awesome in corners, straights, rain, you name it....

thanks guys, I guess Super Sport it is. Im not sure if the sensors have been replaced or not Ill look through the receipts to see what the previous owner did. this was very helpful.

I would check this part for sure, the sensors have batteries in them, would be a bit long. I believe vpa also sells the sensors that can be preprogrammed to match your car, without a need to go to the dealer to have them reset. All you have to do is have the dealer download the current sensor codes and they can be duplicated on the new ones. At least I think it was vpa that offered this service.

I know this service is offered by Viper Specialty, not sure about VPA.

Cost is per sensor AFAIK.

You can read the codes off of the sensor once the tires are dismounted if you have time to wait on the new sensors otherwise you would have to get the dealer or someone else with a tool to read the codes.
