Why do viper owners tend to keep miles so low?

I purposely looked for one that wasn't a garage queen for this reason (and because I didn't feel like paying the premium). I planned to drive it all the time to begin with, so something with a few wear marks didn't bother me. If it already has a scratch or two then I don't mind another one so bad. Gotta love composites though, don't have to worry about rust if you do scruff something up like the front fascia.

It was a hell of a fun time. It was a continuous drive/party cycle that lasted for 5 days. Lots of good folks, not any huge egos in the crowd, just a bunch of folks wanting to drive and have fun. None take it too seriously, the emphasis really is on having a good time. The Dustball organizers had camera crews every day working and we will soon see a lot of stills and video once editing is done. You can check out their Facebook page for a bunch of shots from this last week's events. I am surely the going to do the Austin to Chicago rally next year. I am a bit partial to this picture taken in Florida. My Gen IV with a new friend's Gen 2 in the background.

I bought the 'vert new with 3 miles on it in 2008 and as of today I'm about 20 miles shy of turning 51,000 miles! It's been my daily driver as well as beginner track monster and I find her comfy to drive. She's been my grocery getter - I can put a week's worth of goceries in the trunk but when I have to buy toilet paper too that ends up in the passenger seat! She's now retired to street duty since I have a new track monster and am striving to beat an odometer picture I saw a few years ago registering 250,000 miles! Gonna take me a few years but that's the goal. My philosophy on garage queens is to park it in your living room, slap a piece of glass on it and call it a coffee table

Beth great story; and ideology! I think after 10k on the clock, miles become almost irrelevant. I love hearing people who have really put miles and smiles on their vehicles, the owner of said vehicles and the crowds of people that get to see the cars out on the road. With 8 liters pumping out 450hp (GTS) or 460hp (ACR), these cars are barely breaking a sweat so driving them well into 100k+ miles is completely rational...and obviously proven like the owner of the 250k mile car. It looks like there are plenty of owners with plenty of miles on their cars! Finally, I also find driving the car comfortable. Sure, it's hot in the cabin and I don't even use the AC. However the seats are super supportive and most people that drive in my ACR find it to be comfortable too with plenty of leg room. The fact I feel all the bumps of the road due to my ACR suspension is even better for me because I love the feel of really driving the car and feeling it. I have the red-headed stepchild year. No forged motor and loss of lumpy cam and no ABS introduced in 2001. However as Bill Pemberton points out..the 2000 vehicles turned out the fastest stock 1/4 miles

I drive mine everywhere! Unfortunately, in a year and a half or so it will probably be for sale. I'm going to retire out of the country, and probably won't take it with me. I'll probably cry myself to sleep for a long while. Art

For me the car is like a treat after a long week of work. It's not that I am really worried about the mileage, but more looking forward to the weekend and driving the car!! A daily driver may take that anxious feeling away that I get on Friday afternoon!! BTW, tomorrow is Friday!!

Went to the Woodward dream cruise last night in my 08 SRT coupe (1st year of owning it) sold my 02 FE GTS last (2nd FE GTS I've owned) and I really enjoyed all the Gen2 GTSs. I've posted a few times in the past few weeks, but will prob sell my 08 coupe and get back into a GTS coupe - what a beautiful work of art! Enjoy!

I was unable to do any cruising last night but will be going tonight. Is there a big viper crowd positioned anywhere? Usually there is a lot of Mopar at 13A&Woodward. I'd like to park next to a 2013 and take some pics and see the contrasts more closely. I looked at both an SRT and a GTS at a local Dodge dealership and really like the Black SRT. I can't say it's a better looking car aesthetically from the outside; but it's damn close. You are right though Finaled357...they are definitely works of art.
