Hi there,

I put a Paxton Novi 2000 with 8PSI of boost on my 1994 RT/10. The car is running good and I´m happy with it.

I have a problem with leaking oil out of the Oil fill cap and I´m a little bit confused at the moment. I made a crankcase vent with D 12 lines on both valve covers and a oil-catch-tank.

After about 1000 miles the catch-tank is still empty (just a few drops inside) but after a ride I have always a small oil leak on the ground. The oil runs just on the passanger side. It looks like that it came from the oil fill cap? Maybe a bit out of the oil dipstick?

I checked oil cap, the o-ring is still ok!

Does anyone have the same problem?

Here are some pictures:

Jurgen , Although you may get many different answers here, I recommend that you email Chuck Tator who is the Viper Wizard.

He should be able to help. Try to contact him at [email protected]

I can't imagine how you would get what you are seeing with that setup. Is there any possibility that the vent on the catch can is not actually open to the inputs? Like some kind of defect in the can?

I had a non viper and when that happened I had broken piston lands. Not sure that's your issue but it happened twice to me. Any time I got into it the blow by was pretty bad during boost.

The SC increases blow-by past the rings. What you have is common, but not good. It is typically signs of a tired engine or a specific problem. I hope you are lucky and it gets no worse.

Hi guys,

thanks for your feedback. I know that the blow-by is bigger with the supercharger on it.

Before I installed the SC I built the top end of the engine with new cylinderheads cam and new gaskets. I checked the Pistons and rings, they where ok. The car has 25.000 miles on it and about 2000 miles with the Paxton. I made 785HP @crank on a superflow dyno.

The reason why I´m so confused is because there is no oil on the driver side, there is no Oil in the Catch Tank (I checked the lines they are okay and also big enough).

After installed all new parts and about 500-1000miles later I had following compression:
#1 155PSI
#2 165PSI
#3 165PSI
#4 170PSI
#5 165PSI
#6 160PSI
#7 170PSI
#8 165PSI
#9 165PSI
#10 160PSI

I will check the compression again.

Thanks Jürgen
