I just entered it to enter it. It was a local show with about 270 cars. I just washed and quikwaxed it. I didnt touch the motor. Just sprayed the wheels off and wipe them down. I didnt expect to win anything. As usual, it was mostly Vettes and Mustangs. But being the only Viper there probably had something to do with me winning the Production Car, 1979-99 class, closed (non-convertible) class.

Side story: We all get the "is it a V12?" question. But this guy took it a bit further.

Guy: Is this a V12?
Me: No, its a V10.
Guy: Oh, I think they started making them in V12 in 2004.
Me: No, all production Viper are V10, from 1992 until now.
Guy: Oh yeah, but I think you could special order them with a V12 from the factory. I rode in one. They are really fast.
Me: Yeah.

Thats why my new license plate is going to be V-TEN.

My car gets no respect. I actually came in 2nd today...with only two cars in my class. A crossfire won. Congrats on your win!

Haha, sorry! I went to a show with about 25 cars, 10 awards were given and I didn't get one.... Mustangs, etc. did. To be fair though it was pretty dirty and I hadn't bothered to wash it

I was surprised I won. I mean, my car was great looking for just driving, but not clean for a car show. I just parked mine and left it alone while others were keeping every particle of dust off of their's for the entire day. But like I said, I was the only Viper there and of course Vipers are the prettiest cars.

JM- I was kinda forced to go with the gold theme. When I bought the car it came with gold accents on the white stripes. The old badges were becoming faded and looked orange so I decided to replace them. I ultimately plan on gold faced wheels. I know gold isnt popular for some reason, but I like it.

Yep, I've gotten that same conversation several times. It's even harder when the guy is with his "buds" and trying to act like he knows everything there is to know about cars. You did a nice job of handling the situation.

If a Viper didn't beat all the Fords, even at a Ford show, something would be wrong.
