ill say this as im new to the viper world, im coming from a 03-04 Cobra and GT-500 world. The attention that a viper gets can get annoying from time to time but ive always responded respectful to compliments or take the time to talk to people.

I always carry a few Viper toys in my glove box, I remember we were out at a little town that had a farmers market on. The wife wanted to go see what was there and I said I would stay with the car. This young boy about ten come up and he new what the car was and wondered if he could sit in it. I told him I would give him a ride. He checked with his mother and off we went , All he could talk about was Vipers, Said he was saving up to buy one. Great Kid, after his ride I gave him his choice of little Vipers I had in my glove box. It was a great day for me and him

Wow, you showed great restraint just walking away after that. I would have insulted him AND his car after that and if he wanted to take it further that's alright by me too.

It's hard to insult one of these cars...even if its red and the driver is a ****. I've calmed down, and hopefully I'll run into somebody whom appreciates their car before the snakes go into hibernation.

Great idea. Think I'll do the same with the little matchbox vipers in the glove box for kids.

Whenever I am out in mine, if someone looks interested in the car at all I'll chat with them. If there are kids, I'll let them sit in it. cars are meant to be enjoyed. I am fortunate enough to have an expensive toy, the least I can do is let others enjoy it to.

It takes nothing out of your day to chat with someone about your vehicles.

Sure, maybe the guy was in a rush, but a "sorry buddy I am in a hurry" is a bit more polite...

What...did I hear more dissing of Red Vipers???? :lmao:

Honestly, I don't think it has to do with owning a Viper....it has to do with that guy just being a class A ****. I don't think it would make a difference if he owned something else...let's see, so he owns a Porsche and it goes like this..."Hi, that's a nice Porsche, is it turbo charged?" Oh, go F*** off, I don't have time for this!":omg:

You did the right thing in walking away :headbang:, he isn't worth the time....just a real snot rag!:nono:

Don't link it to owning a Viper, think it could happen with any high end sports car!

LOL Vipuronr, I'm not one to discriminate against red Vipers. Heck, the '89 proto, '91 pace car and all '92s were red..the original colour.

(even though the VM-01 concept was eggshell white)

It is not uncommon with people who have inflated egos...my experience, I did not turn the other cheek but paid it forward...early morning drive to a cars and coffee and stopped for a water break...was leaving a big rest park and a prowler club had arrived as I was leaving with about 10 cars lined up. Watched them pull in and waited for them to get out ... I complimented a two guys on the cars and they gave me the "evil Eye" and ignored me. So I walked two rows over, hopped in my Viper...Few raps of the exhaust as I started to slowly leave. I circled around by them as I left and those same two guys did the thumbs up at the same time they "made the connection"...Yeah, I got to walk past them again at the Cars and Coffee and I returned the favor and informed my fellow Viper drivers as to what had happened. Those two never came close to us at the show... Have to love Karma!
