Interesting video. Thanks for posting it. The comments that stood out for me were that they took months to prepare for the run and that they had perfect weather. As I recall, the Viper that set the record that they beat was right from Bernie's dealership; they had a very narrow window to run; borderline weather and almost no preparation. It will be very interesting to see what the, hopefullly, someday produced Gen V ACR will do. 14 seconds is a huge lead. Of course, we will soon read the usual vehicle cost difference posts but that issue is obvious.

It's an $850,000 car!
Who cares what the time was! It is irrelevant. You'll likely NEVER see one on the street, much less come up against it a your local track day, or even stoplight grand prix.

An $850,000 car with the optional $84,000 Weissach package.

The fact that it took a million dollar car to beat the $100k ACR makes me smile.

And if you really were to do an all out Gen 5 attempt (wait for perfect weather and conditions, lots of testing to set shocks and alignment just right), allow drivers tons of track time to get use to the car and track, I would wager money that the Gen 5 with the small aero that is available as on option on the TA and an R-compound tire would be a sub 7:00 car. The ACR-X did a 7:03 on slicks but not the best trans and rear end ratios. I think time was left on the table because of that. The conditions were nowhere near perfect either for either the ACR or ACR-X runs.

I see that the Porsche laid down a fast lap but I wonder what kind of times lap two would have been?......I'm thinking those electric motors and batteries would start to get pretty hot after 15 miles of going balls out.

Cheers,
George

P1 and 918 are a big problem for Ferrari, Lamborghini and Bugatti... SRT, Chevy and Ford not so much :dunno:
