This is the 4th Viper I've purchased sight-unseen, assuming it arrives in the condition promised. Had been debating all Summer about going from my Gen IV back to a Gen 2 GTS/ACR. Went on a weekend long Wine tour with the Motor City Viper Owners back in September that included about 25 cars. All years, models, colors, etc. Fell back in love with the Gen 2 ACR and have found one to my liking. Yes, I know the performance is less, but still MORE than I need (can use) and the WOW factor of a yellow/black ACR more than makes up for it, in my humble opinion.

Have ALWAYS loved the ACR and can't wait to get her home tomorrow night. Have posted several times this Summer/Fall on the topic and I really appreciate the feedback from this site - thank you!

Good luck with the new one ,what is it about the gen 2 that brings you back? Have a 2001 myself ,but it's the only viper I have driven.

Just the **** curves and cartoonish/outrageous features. I just found myself unable to take my eyes off the bumblebee ACR parked next to mine back in September... I have loved the GTS since it came out in '96...

Congrats on the new (older model) car! I too am a Motor City member. Not sure if I have met you. My name is Tim and I had a 08 Blue with white stripe. I know a 1:33 ACR but haven't been to any events with it.

I attended the auto X at the proving grounds, last years poker party and the spring brunch this year. Not sure if you were at any of those. Screen names always throw me off.

Hey Tim, I did the auto x @ Oakland U this year but missed Chelsea. Beautiful 1:33 - love the Gen 4 ACR! Hope to see you around.

I really wanted a Gen2 ACR and still may try to get one someday. In fact I actually was in the process of buying a 2000 Steel Gray/Silver ACR and the guy's wife crashed it on the way to the Private Party Inspection... Oh well:dunno:

The Gen 2 ACR is really one of the best made and looking IMO. And you picked a great color combo too. Well done.

+1 Gen 2 ACR is one of the sexiest Vipers ever made.

Hey 46hemi, that's the first pic I've seen of a Gen II ACR without the weight. I never realized how rare they are.

I've been looking at these years ACR's as well for a long time, and this is the FIRST one I've seen without the radio and A/C option.

Good for you. I love to hear about someone getting a car the really wanted. You can't put a price tag on a classy choice.

It does have the comfort group. Here is my 'new' ACR nose to nose with my 'old' SRT. My 5 year old son emphatically approves of the trade - must be the wing...

Congrats on the new snake. Why did you want an ACR as opposed to a regular GTS? I have an ACR, but there really isn't that much differences from the base GTS unless you're looking at if from a collectors view which yours is moddified so it negates that.

Just the rarity of the ACR, wheels, 5 pt harnesses and stiffer suspension, have already owned 2 GTS.

Yea I noticed that and researched before buying as I saw a few ACR with fog lights which I thought were deletes but I learned that that they were an option... Good eye.

Thank you FinalEd! Sort of Viper related: I got to meet two of Joe Perry's kids last summer...they opened for us as we were headlining. Long story short, they remember #357.

GuitarSteve, that is cool. Pretty neat story - he signed the visor, had a great framed pic of him with the car and he hand wrote a note to my 3 year old son, offered concert tix, have a magazine story about all the band members and their Vipers and have the original title (in his wife's name) with their home address and stuff. Should have probably kept the car.... click on my home page in my profile... thats the car and page I built when I had it, but transferred the name to Steve Polidori (local guitar player here in Michigan who bought it from me - also was a HUGE Joe Perry fan, I was happy he got the car). Kind of funny that your handle is GuitarSteve - the first time I saw your post I thought it was him until I saw you are from Ontario..

I remember reading all about when you were in the process of getting the car. At that time I wasn't posting on here though. Happy to hear you're back in a GEN II....where you belong. Just get rid of the wing lol! In all seriousness, a dealer near me had the '96 RT/10 from the Vegas Vacation movie. Don't know if they still have it. The way I see it, doesn't matter what year or colour it is...as long as it's got 10 cylinders and says Viper on it. Enjoy the bee!

Yea I wouldn't have put the wing on, but it is really sweet looking and a lot of hennessy cars had them so that's how I justified it not looking like a "ricer" car. I figured if I change my mind I can take it to prefix locally to remove/Repaint back to original.

Congratulations on your ACR - my pick also - after several years I took off the comp. springs and shocks (The ride was beating the hell out of me on our crappy Oklahoma roads and highways) and put on stock viper springs and shocks and got a "street able ride". (I'm keeping the comp's. - they are a key part of an ACR and at very high speeds you wouldn't want anything less on the car!)

7th, thx. I would have bought yours if I could have sold outright but no buyers other than dealer trade. Ever sell yours via eBay?
