You're braver than me, LOL. I put a deposit on my Viper long before they were in showrooms. All we have on the C7 Z06 are a few possible leaked images and HP/Torque numbers. Looking forward to the reveal.

If the images are correct, the aero package looks aggressive and should provide a lot of downforce. Looks like we've got some legitimate competition. Looking forward to driving with them at the track.

I am sure it is a great car. If you go to a cruise night in 6 months there will always be vettes there.Go with a viper and you will steal all the attention.

That is a photoshop. The real car could not lawfully have the almost nill wheel well tire clearance or what looks like about a one inch clearance from the bottom of the front splitter to the ground. But it does look very mean.

There has been a ton of photoshopped images out there but these seem to be the most legit according to what's being said on the Corvette forum right now. From the interior pic it appears they are offering it in an auto for the first time as well, 3 pedals or no pedals is my take on that though.

Vipers are definentely unique and stand out from the crowd. Still not sure which way I'll go but for sure it will either be a Gen V Viper or C7 Z06

It's great to have awesome American muscle to choose from. If and when that comes out and SRT releases the ACR your really going to have some wicked options.

If I had the money, was able to sell my 08 Z06 right now and it wasn't winter I would have an orange T/A in my garage right now, I love that car.

Not all. Just some. Just like you would find among Corvette owners. Some race at all types of venues. Some only road course. Some only quarter mile. And probably the most just a Sunday cruise to a fun and relaxing destination. Both are great cars. The Viper is a bit more driver skill set oriented. It is part of the Viper's tradition.

Actually, I think it's funny that a Vette owner is calling out Vipers as Cruise night only cars. As a percentage of total vehicles out there, I can assure you more Vipers are tracked than Vettes. Not that there is anything wrong with just owning a cruise mobile. Just a silly comment.

As an FTYI, I've owned Vettes and will probably own one again in the future.

Illustration looks legit, and the characteristics match up with the leaked detail photos. I'll take one in white.

Its a vette.

06 z06 sells for less than 03 viper.

08 viper sells for 15k plus more than z06.

No one really cares about a c6z06 anymore. But every viper ever made is still special when they roll through

The photos are getting pulled on other forums so it must be the real deal.

Buy the one that appeals to you most... and forget other's opinions. Both are going to be great cars, but different enough in some pretty significant ways that will make all the difference to some, while being meaningless to others. Exclusivity and styling are the first ones that comes to mind as both were critical factors for me. Differences in performance, price or features will do it for others. Thumbs up to anyone that chooses either, and a bigger one to those who choose both!

If it was a real GM press release then you'd be able to head over to the press section on Chevy's website and download the pics from there. That said, this pic is probably in the ballpark of how it's going to look...but I bet you the wings and fins are going to be options.

Lol. Is this what its come down to for viper owners? Attention at a cruise night? lol

Thou dost exudeth a senseth of envy.

Don't feel too bad, because the Vette is definitely keeping its spot on the "Top 10 Cars You're Likely to See Parked in a Walmart Parking Lot". It's between Pickup Truck and Minivan...so you're getting attention too.

I like this subtle, sensible way of saying that the viper is a better choice than the vette, but choose the one you like. :)

I see it still retains the (to me) same ugly rear end:nono: as the base Stingray, which only re-affirms my decision to make the Viper my next car! Should be an excellent performer, however and will sell very well if GM keeps the price down below 100K (doubtful).:) Oh, I love the side design and the rockers look great. Love the front clip minus the fangs & splitter.

If it,s at or around 100,000.00 GM will dominate that price range and sell all they can produce....

I can't se why it would be $100k. The C6 Z cars had an aluminum frame and lots of carbon fiber and far superior brakes over the base C6. The base C7 Z51 at $54k already has that. GM wants to sell cars and they will probably price this close to the current $75-$80k starting price of the C6 Z06 same formula as the base car and then you can probably option it out to $100k.

Picture is just a drawing, not a real photo.

Looks pretty aggressive.

Even if GM sells it for $100.000, dealers will be pricing them at $125,000.

After driving a couple Gen V's a month ago at the SRT event, I was glad that they have still kept that feeling of connection between driver and machine. Of all the attributes I miss most from Corvettes is that they do not provide that same direct connection. That is why I stick to Viper.

As many have learned from driving cars such as the Nissan GT-R's. No matter what numbers they put down, if they do not provide a connected driving experiencs, all the numbers in the world do not matter.

Many of us enjoy that feeling that it is us that is making the car go fast, rather than just being along for the ride.

If it actually looks like that rendering, I'm going to have to go ahead and bring a lift from the shop to the house garage so I have room for one.
I've had Vette's in the past and definitely prefer the exclusivity of the Viper, but that Vette looks down right mean!

I've been banging on endlessly about this. I'd never buy a Corvette, they just aren't my cup of tea. But I don't see how you can compare that next to a GenV at any angle and think the gen V is more aggressive. Halle Berry on a beach is not aggressive. This corvette looks like it wants to eat you. I don't understand how people don't see what I mean. The Viper doesn't have road presence. Sure it's curvy, but coming down the road or going away from you, it doesn't look mean.

Ralph, please take note with the ACR. Slapping on some aero isn't going to work this time. Time for some more aggressive body work.
