Some people are gear heads and well............ some have nothing good to say. Glad to see your a real car guy (truck) and not just a dude with a stick up his a$$.

I'm a poster child of "Viper Bit" even as an old guy

Well, I just pulled up a plate of crow here, time to dig in.

Apologies for the jump-of-the-gun, we won't be adding Viper Trucks, the poll was pretty overwhelming, but what you didn't see is all the members who do not have forum access (most of our members don't seem to care about the forums weirdly enough), so we got calls, and emails, and these were 100% against (I guess if they took the trouble to call, they were animated) in addition to the calls for "I will cancel my membership".

So... It was a good experiment at a good time. I'm going to reach out to my local Viper Truck club and see if they can come to an appropriate event, I still believe Viper passion can cross the car/truck barrier, and I hope some of you guys will show these guys a good time down the road.

I also don't see that "Owner" has been rolled out, so let me check status there. Thanks everyone for weighing in...

It's all good, you won't see any hurt feeling from the Viper Truck Guys and appreciate that you presented it to your Members. In reality, that's what would be expected form us and happy you did.

Looking forward to seeing the Viper Club grow and regain it's strength

To a fun 2014
Cheers!

Something ventured. Something gained. Thoughtful participation and a member based decision. Congrats.

Still a positive move forward to allow "Owner" status.

So you don't currently own a Viper or a Viper truck?

If the trucks were allowed to join the VCA, would they have to supply a VIN like the Viper owners do? Now I'm kind of confused....as hard as ViperJeff worked to implement the Viper Trucks into the VCA, I thought he presently owned a truck so he could join :dunno:

It looks like the membership has spoken so I guess it's a moot point.

Cheers,
George

Well as you guys can see "Viper Owner" is now live. Several of you have that in this thread. If you have a valid Viper VIN in your profile, (and are an enthusiast) you get the owner title. So we got something good enacted :)

Whoa, take a step back from the Kool-aide....

I made absolutely zero effort in promoting, suggesting, directing or pushing the idea of the RAM SRT-10 being part of the VCA. I have commented (positively) along the way and that's about it (knowing there was no chance). My interest in the VCA is a purely Viper interest... as weird as that sounds.

But then again, if you all think I had something to do with the initial suggestion, that is your choice to believe that. Damn, the things I do for the love of a car I don't even own and the paranoia of those I would like to help.

Make it a better day

I put my vin# in. Still an enthusiast. Does it take a while?

Just checking! Nope still an enthusiast despite having valid ownership history for years. Not sure how you boys went about the owner title. Would have seemed very straight forward.

Well that's interesting. I just went to view my own profile to see if my VIN was on record and I get the "you do not have permission to access this page" message so I can't even view my own profile lol.

I get the same thing, however, if you click on notifications, you can get to your profile

Apparently the software does not immediately update. I removed my VIN# yesterday since I just sold my car; but, it is still showing as Viper Owner.

I do appreciate that the club leadership implemented this suggestion, though !

Some of you Viper Owners may wish to consider stepping up just a little more, and becoming full fledged VCA members.

"Support the Club that Supports the Owners"

Some things are coming up that might reward members, so please consider...

https://www.viperclub.org/membership/

Some positive changes have happened here and I applaud them. And when the club completely removes the accounts of the people that directly caused it's downfall, I will happily become a Venom member.

Just to step in for ViperJeff, he in no way tried to sway the vote one way or another. Heck, he actually said to me several times that it was no big deal, so this was not about him...

I've been working with him on the IVR (well he's been working, I've been looking at it) and to say he does a lot for the Viper community is saying it very mildly.

Happy to see most the "Owner's" getting that in there. The rest of you, colo, gust, not sure what you're seeing. It is relatively straightforward, but we had to clear the old info out, so you actually have to go in there and put it in. We can't take "years" of old data for granted. I realize it's a pain, but we have to do some validation...

Okay so found it in Settings, but interesting that it is still entered in there from before. My VIN is still there and I did not re-enter it so why does still not show me as a Viper Owner? Data was not purged from my account other than avatars and *** due to size of account. Guess not sure I understand.

In regards to the VIN and the Viper Owner tag. Please ensure that you have complete VIN listed, not a partial. Once that is entered, have patience. The system will update you automatically if it finds a valid VIN number, when the sync tool runs at 2am every morning.

Colo, it didn't like the - in your VIN... I removed them.
