Noticed that my Viper was not starting as crisply as usual, and though it was just time for a new battery.

When I took a look, the positive post was all green and furry with corrosion.

Quick cleaning with some baking soda and all is back to normal.

Since Viper batteries are pretty well hidden it is not uncommon to ignore them, however if you have the chance, it might be worth a look.

Good info. My battery went dead for just about a year when I bought it but got a new replacement one with no extra charge. Had to clean the corrosion building up before putting the new one :)

Thanks for the heads up, having that very issue right now. I guess I'll give it a check before heading down to buy a replacement.
