Hey Gents,

Been a while for me on here as im just coming out of hibernation here, anyway, I hope everyone is safe and all families well.

I need some help. Im getting the Mistress (03) ready for this season and have her up on the hoist inspecting underside, oil change etc, and notice an oil leak at the pan gasket. (its the gasket and not the lines) So, I pull it apart, well, to be precise:

I drain the oil
remove the inspection cover
pull the bolts on the ac line
pull the four bolts from trans to oil pan
pull all remaining oil pan bolts

So the pan is loose at the front but secure at the rear....and I have pulled the three bolts up in the inspection area. No luck. Im using a pry bar gently but am worried im missing something and am gonna brake the pan or a bolt or pin or etc...Do I have to pull all the transmission bolts..well bell housing bolts to engine as well?

Thanks for any advise in advance.

Mopar Steve and I just replaced the pan gasket on my 03 a few weeks ago. It wasn't a bad job - once we found ALL the bolts, LOL! The hardest part was me holding the pan back in place over my head while Steve re-torqued all the bolts.

Ya missed the fourth bolt in the inspection area...sheesh. Haven't figured out who is going to hold it for me yet. Wifey....mmmm na, too much explaining to do. Neighbor, hmmm...he owns a cat so he's out. Kids....nope still to young to contribute anything meaningful in this life, like holding the pan. Don't know. Guess I could rig up some wire and duct tape to do the trick..................................

Whoever it is, has to be strong. I'm in decent shape, gym, run etc, and I felt it in my arms the next day!

I have an exhaust jack that I could have put under the pan while I ran the bolts in, but watching Scott sweat was much more fun. It isn't heavy but just holding your hands up for a few minutes is tough. Scott did great, didn't complain at all that I was taking my time. LOL.
