Need Expert Suggestion for my 1997 GTS that is coming on Monday

My 97 GTS should be arriving on Monday, and the only upgrade I would like to make to it would be the wheels. It is completely stock and has had zero mods done to it. I would like to fill the well as much as possible without lowering the car, since it has to clear a lift ramp in my garage every time it is parked. So what size wheels and tires will fill the stock wheel well best? I am okay with having the 18/19 or 19/20 setup since it will not see any track or drag time. This will just be a weekend cruiser

I went with 18/19" viper wheels for a lot of the same reasons you have:

Or go 19/20. Filling wheel gap though doesn't guarantee it'll always look right

19/20 will look big on a Viper and you'll loose some acceleration if you don't regear. I think 18/19 is a good compromise for a Gen2 Viper. Don't forget, the Gen1/2 Viper was "designed" with 17's all round, so 19's in the back is already 2 sizes bigger

19/19's look good. 20's look too big to me in the back and I believe you'd have to get some custom 18's for the front if you ever wanted to go six piston calipers e.g. Bushido.

you will be happy with 20 in the rear and 19 in front. acceleration loss? if you are cruising does it really matter it is still a viper and has plenty. :2tu:

i have 18 in front and 19 in back they are side winder with 1" spacers still like to lower it 1'' its a 1996 GTS !!!!!!!

I went to pull it onto my lift tonight, and it is getting hung up on the bottom due to the angle of my driveway. It currently has 335 35 17 on the back and 275 40 17 on the front. Any possibility of adding some height with bigger wheels and tires, so that I can get some additional clearance underneath? It feels like it is catching right around the drivers floorboard.

Isn't there some way you could rig the lift to accommodate the car? Maybe with some wood or something to gradually reduce the height leading up to the lift?

The family and I are loving it. It has 5600 miles and looks fantastic. I took it to the quarter wash to rinse it off and then took it on the highway to dry it off :drive:

!i put more miles on it today then the owner did in the last year. What a great car. Of course I understand why everyone said to get used to the car before getting on the gas. This thing has some great power.
