Die-Hard Gold...side terminal only...Group 78 SHOULD fit, but a Group 75 will fit a little easier and works well.

I always use a Deltran Battery Tender Plus.

My car has been ******* batteries. maybe a combination of the Texas heat and a slow drain and the car doesn't get lot of drive time. last year I upgraded to the Autocraft Platinum AGM (Absorbent Glass Mat) battery at Advance Auto Parts. So far, i'm happy with it's performance.

Bosch from Pep Boys has a 36/96 month replace/prorate warranty. They've worked well for me.

Everyone has there favorite Battery, but the best thing you can do is have a good high end battery tender. It will triple the life of your Battery, because most Vipers spend alot of down time, unless you are one of the people that drive it every day. If so lucky you.:usa:

Something is wrong there as mine batteries have lasted 7+ years each when I replace them proactively.

If you use a standard battery, the Interstate lasted longer than any other I've used.

However, after a TON of research, I just finished installing a pair of Diehard Platinum Automotive AGM batteries in my work truck. AGM is a completely different style of battery. I run a 12,000 pound winch, 10 130watt KC Daylighters, and a =lot= of electronics. This is the battery that will replace the current one in my 96 GTS.

In the old days, I was a huge fan of Optima, but I personally have seen the inside of one of my OLD dead Optimas and the inside of a newer one, and the rumors are true. I gave up on them.

No matter what battery you go with, buy a Deltran Battery Tender from almost any auto parts store. They work great. I am away from home for 3-6 weeks at a time and have never had a worry about the battery tender. And I always have a great working battery every time I crank it up when I finally get home.

I use the Optima red top and it has been very good to me now for three years. I do have the CTeck battery maintainer on it for about 6 months of the year and it starts right up every spring.
