Great news about the much needed off-road PCM for the GenV cars, it is VERY close, as are other possibilities for power from a trusted source. You can get on the list I have going if you are wanting one of the PCM's, I ordered 20 of them and have 12 left at this moment. I will not post pricing at this time, but I think you will be happy with it.

Increase etc.(No CEL)That may just get some of us to call Bill. P and buy another Snake from Wood house...

Goods news if true...No real facts = BS...

This is awesome news! Definitely a step in the right direction for the Gen V! My only question now is when will we see an aftermarket supercharger kit available?

Is all you do complain about this car?

Things are improving and the typical crowd still complains.

I am just amazed after two years people are still complaining about the same things. Lord, get over it and move on.

The car could have 750HP at the rear wheel and they'd find something else to complain about. Pathetic.

Thank you for posting Mark. Great news! Is it safe to assume that this will allow the same type of mods that the offroad controller for the Gen IV allowed - basically headers and cat back? If so, with the offroad controller, headers and cat back, the Gen V might obtain a peak output of around 685 - 690 HP with possible modest gains in the midrange. Am I in the ballpark?

I've heard rumors that something else is on the horizon as well.

I think the video of Ralphs car is the PCM solution (600RWHP)

I never spread rumors, if I make the move to post it I'm pretty comfortable with it.

Thanks for all the orders BTW, I have so many that I have gone back and asked for real $ confirmations so if you get a follow up from me and are not ready at this time for sure just let me know that and I will keep your info a side till you are. This is so I don't order 50 and get left hanging with 1/2 of them LOL, I posted before that I would probably be out in the street at that point Haha... uh huh...

Thanks again,

Jack, you've got to ask yourself this.....the Gen 4 guys have had no real tuning options since 2008....7 years with no help from either Chrysler or the aftermarket. (and by tuning option, I do not mean using a stand alone unit like Motec or Pectel or the anemic Mopar PCM). But, as soon as the aftermarket comes out saying they'll have a tune-able option for the Gen 5, magically SRT announces that an off road pcm is available and Mark @ Woodhouse just sold 40 of them as claimed today on the other forum.

The mid 1990's computer tuning (options and speed to market) cannot be compared to what is available today (or even 7 years ago). Honestly, the "timing" of the SRT release does crap on the aftermarket tuner coming out.

Maybe we'll get a tweet next week explaining the parameters of the new SRT tuner.

I agree with most of what your are saying. I would like to differ on a couple of points:

1. Tuning is tuning, it has not changed a lot. Look at the basics of HP Tuners, the bottom of the platform has not changed a lot. I will also go back to the fact that the G1/G2 had no tuning means for approx ten years and I do not consider the Vec1 a tuning device, the Vec2 was a different issue, it helped a lot of cars until SCT came on the scene.

2. My main point is that there are a half dozen or so posters on the three sites that are detrimental to the well being of the viper. Those individuals should be forced to watch Groundhog Day at least fifty times, that is what the rest of us are seeing. I often think, doesn't he know he has posted the same thing a dozen times? What is really sad is the fact some of them are viper owners.

Just wanted to update everyone on the progress, the approval is still pending and hopefully there will be something figured out next week now. Not the timetable that was originally talked about I know, but there is always snags that can come up when it comes to legal language I assume. I will of course keep you up on any movement that I have knowledge of.

do you think the pcm will allow an aftermarket cam?

I think that will require custom programming, but if SRT decides to offer a heads and cam package they may be able to provide the custom tune required to use their system, that is not for sure, but for now just my opinion.

Update on the pending release, there have been significant negotiations done and they seem to be confidant that the release will be very soon, maybe even this week. Since I'm not at the table though I can only hope that the info was correct.
