Does anybody have any experience with a Southbend clutch in a Viper? They advertise that their Endurance single disc clutch is rated to 1000 lbs tq and is priced similarly to the Spec 3+. I've found next to nothing about them on the forums though.

Have seen the Spec 3+ hold 900+ rwhp on a TT Viper recently. And that's "real world" not just a rating.

They make an unsprung disk version also, which is slightly lighter weight and seems to shift a little crisper than the sprung 3+.

mnviper,

Save yourself a LOT of trouble, heartache and effort. Call Toddy at BBG and tell him you need a good clutch. What you need has been done and he has exactly what you need (and it's proven...)!

I saw a Spec 3+ hold over 980 RWHP. Held like a champ.

SPEC blows. For every story of one that holds together, there are three that never set up right or come apart prematurely. Not saying the posters who said they've seen a good SPEC aren't correct, I'm sure they did....but they were the lucky owners of a SPEC product that has absolutely no quality control and have failed tons on Vipers.
