Who has chromed their gas cap?

It has been couple of years, but from what I remember you just take the little plastic grey pins out, with a punch. When I did mine they did not want to stay in after I re-assembled it so I bought some hardware at Lowes where the one side threaded into the other pin. Worked perfectly.

Your friend on the other site sent his to Browns Plating and they did a great job as I would expect. I had suggested Browns when he was looking for a chrome vendor since I know them from my Harley and chopper days.

Side note...I was going to chrome mine but ended up buying a MGW instead. I have heard too many horror stories of shattering during disassembly and being left with an expensive paper weight.
Slightly off topic but still gas cap related, I'd like like to give powercoat a chance. Perhaps throw the cap and the wheels in for a gunmetal look or even (No not gold 
), but perhaps a dark grey. Any experience with powder coat on the cap? Does it wear off with use is that why chroming is the preferred method?
