You know, I must say, that it is really upsetting that Dodge will not allow an "open" ecu. Chevy, with their Corvette, sent heads, cams and other engine parts to aftermarket companies to allow them to make exhaust, cams, heads and other great modifications. They seem to understand the importance of allowing customers to modify their cars. Dodge is either too stupid or arrogant or both to do this and it really angers me. So much that I don't think I will buy a Gen 5 Viper, even though I love the look of the car. The fact that I would have to run a "stand alone" ECU if I wanted to do anything more than a Exhaust and air filter is just deplorable. Dodge needs to get their head out of their a*s and realize that customers want a mod friendly car. Just look at the Corvette and GTR. Rant done!!!

I'm sure widespread panic will ensue when they're available.

What happened to cause this wrench in the spokes? I know you can't get into details but some general information would be nice.

I understand, well whatever the holdup is, I hope it works out sooner than later. My guess is there's some red tape to get through first...

PCM has been approved!!!! should have them coming in maybe next week as fast as they can crank them out. The 13-14' cars will be $1100 and the new 15's have a different configuration so Mopar is charging us almost 2X as much for the hardware... Not sure what that will end up making the 15'+ pricing but will post as soon as I get that. I should also have heads and cam package pricing next week to share.

Mark:

What advantages, if any, will the PCM offer for an otherwise stock Gen V running on 91 Octane?

Can you elaborate on what the PCM a bit? So it's basically a pre tuned unit?
It is a replacement PCM that has been optimized for performance and the best air/fuel while also opening up the factory preset parameters for sensors and controls to allow the use of headers, intake if you wanted too, pulley, mild head work and possibly so nitrous for some all while working seamlessly with the rest of the cars electronics. Perfectly running and trouble free.

Even with the 91 (all that is required with it) you should see the same as we have in the past 25-35rwhp depending on the dyno you use.

Just want to make sure I understand, the power gain you've indicated is with no other mods?

(Ignore post, saw responses on other forums. thanks)

If one was to purchase this PCM now, when the supercharger comes out is it a simple re-flash at the dealership???
The PCM would need to be sent back and re flashed for the package upgrade for the H/C or the S/C no big deal and fast turn around.

Is this unit going to have a preset aftermarket tune. Will I be able to purchase/aquire other tunes and download them onto it? I would like to have a new tune now and then when the supercharger kit is ready to go in 2016, be able to modify it accordingly.

The standard off-road PCM has it's own tune, if you upgraded to the H/C or the S/C you would need to send it back in to be flashed appropriately. you will not have to re buy the PCM though.
