Tire shaving/truing in DFW area?

Wow.
Just buy a new tire.
If the tire is egg shaped or out of round, not from flat spotting by locking up the brakes, the tire is screwed up.
Probably has an irregularity or separation in the belts.
Not safe.

Around here, few places will shave a used tire because all the little rocks and debris in the tire tread ruins their very expensive truing blades. They mostly only do new tires that want less tread squirm.
I know the desire to not throw away a tire with lots of tread remaining, but it might need to be done.
On race tracks, I have seen people try to true up a tire by putting it on the rear, and doing a smokey burnout. Looks like fun, but don't know how successful it turned out.

any info on the tire? brand? warranty? manufacture defect?
why is it "out of round" ? how bad? tried repositioning it on the wheel?
Has it been sitting a long time?
what are the run-out spec?

I think my problem is autocross-induced. The tires are BF Goodrich G-Force KDW. They were on the car when I bought it about 16 months ago. I started getting a vibration at 70-75 mph. Took it in for a balance check and was told the right front tire was out of round to the tune of 65lbs of road force. They did not mention a tread separation or such. I was hoping to finish out the season on these tires and get another set of rims for next year so I can have one set of wheels for autocross and one for street use. That said, they are the noisiest tires I have ever had on a vehicle bar snow tires. At highway speed they drown out the exhaust & I can't wait to replace them.

Same tires I have. Good for spirited bursts on the street and confident in the rain. Terrible on the strip. Couldn't imagine autox.
Are you sure wheel is not bent or a bit out of round? Right front is the one I see bent more often.

yes. spin it by hand and look for any movement of the rim edge while looking at the bottom focusing on one area. That should at least give you an idea of anything going on with the wheel

Have some fun with them before they go into the trash.
Nothing feels as good on a Viper as a fresh set of tires.
