read in Car and Driver that the 2015 Viper will have a 5HP increase to 645 -Really?

The bad side of that is the dealers are going to add a big mark up.:rolleyes:

Haven't we beaten that poor little 5hp to death already. lol

It's simply a measurement thing, not even a recalibration, so technically you can't even complain it's ONLY 5 hp, because really it's none, just 5 extra reported hp. Salt, meet wound.

yea ,but there is also an increase in highway mileage from 19 to 20

Wow...The marketing dept is on fiyaaaa....It was funny to see one poster, cant remember who, predict that the mystery 5hp will make the Viper 3mph faster in the 1/4 at 131mph lol.

True, an increasing whopping 5 HP and some interior upgrades supposedly. An article also says a bigger "wing" for the GT or TA but should say rear spoler. Will see on that one.

I gained 5 peak hp on my gen 3 with tuning but y he power under the curve was 30 gained hp. I predict it will be 128-1302 mph faster in the quarter mile and a tenth faster to 60 mph

The Hellcat which is really cool is a more of a drag car, where the Viper is a true track car.

There only needs to be three types of Vipers: An ACR for the track rats, a GTS that's built for drag racing, and a convertible for the posers....all bases covered.

I back to back dynoed it on the same dynoe...peak hp gained vs power under the curve are two totally differant things. Im betting the new power was found via pm tweaking and I really b elieave the car will be even faster now

I believe Dodge said it was simply a measurement gain and notdue to any actual engine or ECU changes

Right now there is like 406 13-14 Vipers for sale on Autotrader. I'm surprised that haven't shut down thw whole debacle.
I really want to see how low prices will go. I have a dealer by me with 3, and these dbags are still asking 100 k plus.And these cars are roped off and just sitting together collecting dust. It's sad...

It's going to take awhile for the 13-14 inventory to be depleted.
One of our fellow posters reported 47 cars were sold in July...

Eventually, if 2015 cars will be built in Sept. as reported earlier, the 13-14 cars will be discounted considerably.
No dealer will want 3 model years sitting on their lots.;)

If thats the case then by one soon....Ive had three vipers and even though Ive told myself I want somthing else over and over...these 640 hp beautiful beaste at sometimes 80-90k nearly brand new is just hard to walk away from... thats a hell of a lot of car for anything sub 100k

No argument here.
However, the Z06 will be hitting dealers this fall, and that can't help Viper sales.

That's what I paid about 6 months ago. As far the Z06 goes, great car of course, but by the time appearance mods come out to make the regular C7 look like the Z which always happens, the Z will blend in with the other 25-30,000 C7s. For many like myself, the very low production status of the viper is more appealing.

I agree. I just listed my gen4. I'm shopping lightly and not sure, no matter what you think about whatever with the gen5 it is a lot of car for the "going" prices out there, new. There are new TAs priced lower than used TAs. So late in the summer now, I may wait a bit more, still hoping for interesting news from SRT .. that's not about the challenger.

Was at a Hooked on driving event Saturday at Palm Beach Speedway...No limits on speed and passing allowed.About 200 cars,all kinds of high end stuff,the two new Turbo S ruled the day on the the round a round track.Out of all the cars,Not one Viper,tryed to get some friends w/Gen.5 to go,no dice...To bad,I would have like to see the Gen 5 try to hang with the Turbo Ss.

One thing for sure,the people(spectators) there would have would definitely been checking out a new Viper if one showed...

May have to get me a new TA(best Viper yet),if any left, when the dealers start giving away the 13/14s,if they make 15s.Even with that shifting thing/old tect.car,I agree,the deals on the Gen.5s are now getting outstanding for such a good HP car.
