Hi all,

I bought myself the bendpak md-6xp scissor lift not too long ago but I'm having a hard time finding info for the ramp height needed clear the lift. Anyone with a scissor lift want to chime in and let me know if two 2x12 boards will do the trick?

Viper is a 2000 GTS, stock height. Thanks in advance!

Don...This is something you will need to do on you own. I have a bendpak 4 post lift and have not problems.

I too have a mid-rise lift in my middle bay. I used to clear it with the Vipers with a pair of 2x12s. However, I made something up a bit better with a bunch of 2x3s. Since the picture was taken, I added some metal corners at the closer ends where the tires go up the ramps. This helps keep the 2x3s inline and the edges protected. It's just a bunch of them lined up and screwed together...one into the next. I kept it solid where the tires would be when a vehicle is parked.

When I used the 2x12s, I had to move them in or out depending on what vehicle was being parked in that bay. With these...whether it's the Excursion or a Viper...the ramps stay put. I park my daily driver on these every night...and use that bay for alot of work. They've help up well.

Thanks for the replies. I'll try the 2x12 for now but that custom ramp does look awesome though!

Thanks Don....it was really simple to make...and cheap. 2x3s are very inexpensive.

If you use 2x12s (which won't give you as much height as my ramps) I'd suggest pressure treated....which aren't cheap.
