Hi guys,

I need some floor mats for Viper.

Any of you know if OEM 1992-95 floor mats would fit my 1997 R/T 10.

Thank you

+1. For Lloyds.
I bought mine about a month ago. Excellent fit. The mats are thicker than stock, soaking up vibrations, making the ride/experience much more comfortable. The wife will take her shoes off now when she rides with me, the feel so nice

Lloyds are really nice unless you want to stay with OEM. Then your choice is a black floor mat or a brown floor mat. I think I have some brown ones too.

Hi,
Mine is a red Canadian edition...( kph instead of mph gage, temp gage is celcius and bilinguale stickers)
Probably makes it a very rare Viper.

I had a shot at a 1997 RT/10, red with gold (not mustard) wheels in 2000. I wasn't fast enough it was sold out from under me so I went out and bought a brand new 2000 Black RT/10.

.

That red with gold will be a collectors model for sure..As ugly as it is..

For example?
1965 Shelby Daytona Cobra Coupe - 6 produced
1962 Ferrari 250 LM- 32 produced
1904 Rolls-Royce - 17 produced
1929 Mercedes-Benz 38/250 SSK- 35-50 produced
1937 Mercedes-Benz 540K Special Roadster- 26 produced

All are low number cars that were sold in the multi million dollar range and arent the best looking cars or may have or may not have been considered desirable, depending on the public demand.

There fore you take the 3 - 1997 Red vipers that were shipped with gold wheels, it would be safe to assume that these 3 cars will sell for tons of money down the road, as undesirable as the car may be in that combo.. There are only 166 Red 1996 Vipers but no listing for them shipped with the yellow and red (ketchup and mustard) combo, so its unknown how many are even out there. Low production numbers have historically translated to collector desired cars, regardless if the car was desirable at the time.

If Dodge had shipped out 1 "baby **** brown" viper that car would be a collectors car, as ugly and undesirable as it is due to the fact that there was only 1 produced..

Just to put it in perspective for you here is a chart on Corvette production numbers and we know the collect ability of Corvettes over the years, especially 1972 and older. The numbers are astronomical to the amount of vipers produced, especially in the first and second generation.

I repeat. For example? Come on..l.Shelby Cobra? Mercedes, Ferrari, Rolls? Hardly an odd color combo Ford? You can't be serious. Show me some really valuable cars that are valued for their paint or appearance combinations. I'll bet you once had a yellow 72 Vette with green upholstery. Saw one at Carlisle many years ago. Rare? Guess why. Desireable? Give me a break.

As the chart I posted shows, you cant even put the Viper into the same category as a Corvette when it comes to future collectability. Even one of the most collectible corvettes, the 63 split window coupe which routinely goes for 100-130K range when done right, was mass produced in the vicinity of 21,000 units. Thats roughly double the entire first gen production run from 1992 through 1996. Desirable or not, rare combos and options historically bring more money, especially on such a low production number car as the viper. Just my opinion, that vipers, regardless of color combo will demand a premium in the years to come, due to the simply fact of low production numbers. Color combo is irrelevant, I have seen some powder blue and orange GT40s, Purple and Yellow pace car corvettes, powder blue SS camaros out there, and people buy them..

My 2 cents regarding future value of my Viper (or any car for that matter).... I bought my Viper as a lifelong dream of owning a Viper and mostly to drive my Viper. The resale value has no importance to me...the pure enjoyment of this fine piece of engineering is the top value to me
Like I wrote, only my 2 cents

one of the most collectible corvettes, the 63 split window coupe.
The split window is FAR from being one of the most collectible Corvettes. Its hardly in the top half. Also there weren't 20,000+ split window coupes made. That was total 63 production. For future referance, it's not double the GEN1 production, it's almost quadruple the 92-96 production.

Color combo is irrelevant,.
What's it going to be? Relevant or irrelevant? You can't have it both ways.

The GT40 is a collector simply because it's a GT40. It's not so rare, but it certainly is desireable.
Purple and Yellow pace car corvettes, ..., and people buy them..
Corvette Pace cars are dogs. 1978 4-speed, L82, 2K miles $30-32K. Worst investment on the planet.

You need to do a little more research before you make statements presented as fact.

I guess we will just have to wait 30 years to see who is right and who is wrong.. But in my opinion Red and yellow viper as ugly as it is will be a collectors car, as it symbolizes everything the viper stood for when released. That in your face we, dont give a crap,as bold as we wanna be attitude that Dodge released upon everyone. Corvettes and Camaros have traditionally had some of the ugliest exterior and interior color combos..They still sell for big bucks..

Here is a Yenko camaro puke green with white interior...Desirable color combo? Not on this planet..Still a 6 figure car

The examples you mention sold for big bucks NOT because of the color combo, but IN SPITE of it. Hopefully in 30 years we will know. Good discussion.
I guess we'll just have to agree to disagree.

Fair enough...But I assume the Red and Yellow McDonalds Viper will be a similar situation..Now the 3 Vipers produced with the Gold wheels from the factory, and the one 97 with the 96 front and hood...Those will be worth big $$$$ just cause they were rare.

They certainly are rare, but only time will tell if they are desireable and command a premium. To me, not so much. Why is that combination desireable?
