I may have found just the right hard top but I need to confirm a few things. Can anyone run a vin for me? If so, I have it posted below. Also if any member is in the NJ area and has time to take a look, I am willing to pay for gas. I will be in Baltimore next week but want to jump on the car now...if it is indeed, the one. :usa:

When you google that VIN you find that the seller has numerous ads, one of which is apparently on an auction site dated 10/29/14 where there were three bids that did not reach the asking price of $32,100.

That ad, and others, includes the seller's statement:

"I am selling my beautiful 2008 Viper Coupe. You will not find a less expensive 2008 for sale, with a clean title. It is Viper Red with Silver Stripes. I am the original owner, and only person who has ever driven this car. This car has been tracked only one time (1/4), and has never been in an accident that caused mechanical damage. It did hit a curb, and broke the bumper, which was replaced at the time. Although the odometer is at 96,000, the engine had a rebuild by the well known "Arrow Racing"... "

If I were contemplating buying this car (don't worry, I'm not) here's what I would ask for:

1 - Seller gets Carfax and presents me with a copy.
2 - Seller allows an inspection of his title, his purchase contract, repair invoice for the bumper, the invoice for the engine rebuild, inspection and emission records, and any maintenance records that he might have.
3 - Seller allows an inspection of the vehicle by a body shop of buyer's choice to make sure that there was no frame damage.
4 - Seller allows a mechanical inspection by a mechanic of the buyer's choice.

I'd be approaching this car with a great deal of caution, considering the "too good to be true" price and the fact that it hasn't been jumped on already.

That's Taylormad's car from the alley. Hit him up there and on FB. I don't know him personally but I was thinking about buying that car. I had a deal that I couldn't pass up on so I went that route. Pretty sure everything is legit in that deal. He bought a Lambo so doesn't want the Viper anymore. Pretty sure he's looking for $39K.

Appears that I misinterpreted the ads as Taylormade sent me a PM with the following information:

"You gave some good advice, but you were wrong about my car "not getting sold at my asking price of $32,000". I had a reserve on the auction that wasn't met. Ive been offered $32 about 3 times, among better offers. Please edit your post as it is not accurate, hence the price is not too good to be true, as my price is higher."

Taylormade is a standup guy and has owned that car since he bought it new.
It's a great deal at that price IMO. Best of luck!
