Hi There, time to change the front bearings on my '06. Has anyone ever ordered the mopar p/n 04763182AB and received the hub assy.. including the center bolt and nut already torqued in place?...I looked on Viper Parts of America and they actually state that the assy.. comes with the center bolt in place and has
the above p/n. Trouble is, they're asking several hundred dollars more than regular mopar parts sites like Moparone for example that are offering the same OEM p/n but no mention of the center bolt being installed. Did, perhaps VP of A actually install that bolt themselves and charge the big increase for it. I don't
want to start friggin' around chasing down bolts as the car needs to be running ASAP....Anyone help me please.

The dealership should be able to look it up with a diagaram and see if it comes with bolt or if the bolt is separate. Let the dealership know up front that you are ordering it informed that it comes complete, and if it is not you will not accept it when it arrives.

Thanks Allen.....I'm finding out that the bearing assy doesn't always come with the bolt installed when one orders that p/n. I can buy the assy for 275 and the bolt separate for 10
but it's going to be a real task installing and torquing that bolt as it has a round head and gets torqued over 275Lbs. If I buy the complete assy from VPOA they want $950 a
pair, which is daylight robbery. I'm hoping there is a second p/n on your parts box which will get me the whole assy. These damn bolts break, quite often and there goes your wheel down the road. Wouldn't that be fun. That's why I want the whole assy so if the thing ever breaks, I'll know it wasn't through improper torquing by me. Thanks

Problem solved (hopefully). I went to the local dealership who contacted the closest dealer that had one in stock in Idaho. He pulled the p/n 4763182AB from the shelf and verified that it did have the center bolt in place. The dealers best price for me was $710 for 2 including state tax but I was able to find a genuine OEM parts place called Tasca on line that will deliver them to my door for $560. Decent savings as I also have to buy new rings for my stoptechs and pads. Makes me wonder how come Viper Parts of America charge
way over dealer prices for their parts. Oh well, thanks for the help lads.

I'd like to see a shot of these bearings. Any chance you could post that? Just curious about what makes these so unusual price-wise. I assume these are not tapered rollers (not accessible to my manual)? Recently did the fronts on my old XKE V12 and they were 10% or less than these are.
Thanks

Unitized hub assembly.
2 sets of caged ball bearings in a sealed unit.
Hub, bearing and housing already pressed together ready to bolt in.
No grease or adjustment required.

High price is due to low volume production from low demand.
Hub assembly is specific to the front of this vehicle, and it's not a Toyota Camry.
-More Camrys on the road than Vipers, so their hubs are way less money.

Just curious when should the front bearings be changed???
When you lift the front of the car, grab the wheel and can feel any movement whatsoever -besides rolling the wheel.
Not a big wear item for street driven cars.
Track cars with lots of negative camber makes the bearing roll with a constant lateral load. Constant hard cornering with high temps from the brakes doesn't help the bearings life either.

If you don't drive the car much, and only on the street........probably never have to worry about it.
If it's a track car, you need to be checking this every time you have the car up.
