need new battery for 02 When, where why?

Which battery is best, how hard is it to change, and any pitfalls I need to watch for?

I installed a Bosch group 78 battery in 2002 GTS. You have to remove the driver's side rear wheel. Then remove the panel to access the battery. Not too hard of a job.

Interstate MT-78. I paid full price of $125 at Jiffy Lube last summer, but you can find them at various service stations nationwide.

My research revealed the Autozone Duralast Gold as one of the most recommended around the net with few negative reviews. (All batteries have some negative reviews.) Most will say, do not get Optima based on past history. If you want an AGM (non-liquid) than Sears Die Hard Platinum is highly recommended but expensive. Generally, the amount you pay is an indicator of how long it will last if you are buying a name brand from major retailers as opposed to a gas station. IMHO.

Its easy to install as mentioned and THE best is the auto zone PLATINUM by far.

I found mine dead when I was heading to and event so I put a Wal-Mart in mine 4 years ago no problems, I keep a battery tender on it.
