Possibly considering selling my 97 GTS viper with 17k miles.
It is one of the 7 with gold rims/emblems.
Clean title, no accidents, 1 owner.
Bone stock and in mint shape. What do you guys think I should ask for it?
Any help would be appreciated. Thank you guys

The Gold package was only offered on the 97 RT/10. The Gold Package option was also listed on the oem window sticker which included tan leather interior, Gold wheels and fender emblems. What you have is just he GTS gold wheel option which also included gold fender emblems.

My apologies. Yes, it's not a "gold package" car as you mentioned like an RT-10. It just has gold rims and the gold emblem. Regardless, still a 1/7 production car.

Id say more like $50,000
No where are you going to get a car like that.
If its a No hit car and in Good condition.
$50k No less and dont short change yourself.

I believe a reg 97GTS with the Gold rims like yours was showcased on Motor Trend against tge Ferrari 355 and Porsche 911 Turbo and beat them....It even clocked 194MPH

I Loved that episode...you can view it on youtube

Would you be OK with sending me the last eight of the VIN. I would like to do a little research and knowing a Viper that fits this category helps me in the research. Again, if it's OK, you can email it to me at [email protected]. I've read about this little gem, just have never been able to clearly identify one

I'm not sure about the Gold, but I've been in the market for a 96 GTS Blue, and there are going for ( condition, mileage ) from 45k to 62k.
I have been tracking these cars for 2 years, and they just keep going up ! )
What color is yours ? Color and GTS makes all the difference. I've seen a Viper Red, 97 MINT- 10k miles, show room new go for 37.5 k

Nice low miles car! I paid $35,000 for my 96 GTS with 27,000 miles 2 years ago. Once it hits 30,000 miles it will probably be worth less...

I'll look for it on YouTube, thank you! It'd be awesome if I got 50k but I don't see that as feasible. Might take a while.

Jeff, I can do that, don't have it on me at the moment tho.

These gold equipped cars only came in red with blk interior. It's clean title, no accidents or paint work or damage. I've been scouring the market and it seems 40k is a reasonable number to hit. The b/w ones are the most highly revered cars so I won't be asking or getting 50k I don't think. Who knows. Maybe a collector out there is just hard up for it.

Thank you all for the input. Work has me consumed at the moment so when I ease up there, likely will be listing the car for sale. Figure another month or so. Then hopefully it's a bit warmer in our great northern climate.

All these years I assumed the GTS also had the tan interior. Thanks for clearing that up Frank.

That video was a real blast from the past.

We called the VIpers with those yellow wheels "Catsup and Mustard" of "Ronald McDonald" cars.

In reality they were a poke in the eye to Ferrari with a Prancing Snake decal where Ferrari uses their famous Prancing Horse logo.

Ok here is my take, i think the numbers are reversed in the registry for the gold wheel gts,s as i think there were 14, and the yellow wheel cars were 7. I have been following them since production and have seen more than 7 with the gold sparkle package. Bolth rare no doubt. sought after because of this? Not yet.

I'm happy to see the owners of these cars believing in the value of what Vipers should bring. For too long, we have been our worst enemy, seeing our Vipers as being worth less than the public perception.

You are so right, Viper owners are our worst enemy, when ever any body sees my car at a show or in the garage they think its worth 100k plus and are totally taken back how cool it is. Stop taking your car for granted.

My first Viper was a GTS with Gold wheels and emblems. This choice of wheels was an option and obviously chosen by few. At the same time, it is now somewhat rare, but to date has never added value. So proper pricing would be same as a '97 Red GTS, your thought of asking $40K is a great starting, and hopefully, ending amount.
