battery disconnecting switch

Hello,

who has installed a battery disconnecting switch that can be activated from the outside like the attached pic?

Or maybe better in front of the car under or near the hood release?

The problem with the battery disconnect switch if it is too easily accessible, it will disable the alarm system and your viper will be open season from vouchers.

Hello,

my problem is that my SRT10 is a 2004 european version. This means that I cannot activate the battery save mode, after activating it the doors are never closed. Unfortunately my car does NOT keep longer than 3 weeks with a fresh battery. The BCM or similar must begin to consume energy after a few days, but here in Spain we only have FIAT dealers that now are also Dodge... BUT they do NOT have any software to check the BCM or similar or do a reset of the software.

Therefore I would like to fit a battery master switch on the outside, but hidden. My car is always in a garage where there are 15 more cars, only with access to my neighbors and me = no risk.
BUT I do nor want to connect always a battery tender, because no other neighbor does.

My question is if you already have fitted such a switch and where exactly and if switching off and on every 3 weeks causes problems with BCM or other ECU or modules?

Take a look at this knife switch on ebay: 181183666897

I would mount a cable under the dash much like a hood release cable up to the hood power junction. In this way no one can see you perform anything like going up to the nose or the ass end to engage the knife switch.

I installed one of these near my battery. They say to break the negative cable and install this switch.
Only use it for inside car shows that make you disconnect battery. Three or four days caused no issues, but not sure about extended periods.
