Is there anyway to figure out what tune my car has been programmed with. I just bought the car not to long ago and the first owner has around $20k spent in upgrades I know he had it tuned but was wondering if it raised my redline and how I could figure that out. Thanks everyone for your help.

Do you have the previous owner's information still? I was in a similar boat in that my car came with a programmer and some tunes, but I didn't know anything about them. Asked the guy I bought it off of if he had the tunes done or if he bought it that way. Said he got it done and told me the shop that did it.

Get the car on a dyno. Data-log the air fuel and listen for knock. With that info you can get a custom tune with numerous vendors.

Go drive the car and wind it up and see when it starts bouncing off the limiter.

If it gets close to 6500, I'd quit there and know that the limiter is definitely raised or disabled.

If you don't want to spin the motor that fast,..........why bother with wondering about the rev limit anyway?

No-one is gonna disable the revlimiter so dont scare him with that.

Also, no need to drive to test out the rev limiter. Just sit in your driveway in neutral and rev it up till she bounces.

I would personally be more concerned about the actual tune and how the A/F looks throughout the entire rpm range.

chances are if the guy put 20K into the car then he invested in a legitimate tune.
Let us know what you find out.
