I have an ever so slight stumble "miss" at about 2500 rpm or so under light throttle. You can feel it, my mechanic can feel it...but it does not throw a misfire code. I changed plugs a 8 months ago...but never wires. The wires are original that come with my 2003 and it and the wires now has 24K miles and 12 years on them. My mechanic suggested replacing them as a first step... He said wires over the years will/can deteriorate and it is a good place to start by replacing wires to eliminate them as the culprit. Will also throw in a new set of plugs for good measure.

I heard lots of guys changing wires.... I am guessing mine are needing changed.....yes?

Thanks.

its an inexpensive maintenance item that i personally would replace just due to age even if they werent causing an issue

"Are the wires original?" is one of the first questions that "the Wizard" asked me when I inquired about some other maintenance items when I first bought my car, and I don't believe that he was just fishing for sales. I had the same mileage on my car as yours. I didn't really feel anything; but, I changed them and the plugs out as recommended. Seemed like a good idea. All rubber things age out and those plug wires are right down near the headers.

In the old days we would shut the lights off in the garage, start the engine with the hood open and look for leakage from the wires, They would arc against the engine if they were bad. If you have a problem at 3000 rpm, rev the engine up and have someone check for leakage. Simple solution.
