Yes - I was thinking of doing that... I just need to find a way to feed BOTH sides of the exhaust into one microphone to get the full effect vs just getting exhaust sound from one side... Im sure I will find a way.

The Viper sound is definitely an acquired taste. I love the sound of mine, but I also agree that a nice American V8 has a certain sound that is just hard to beat. I think modern V8s sound a little more high strung than a classic muscle car, but still good. I have gotten the comments that my car sounds like a tractor pulling out of the company parking lot at low revs, but wind it up and it's a whole different animal. Before the headers I would have called it more of a roar, after them I think I'd almost call it more of a wail. Has just a little touch of exotic sound to it.

If I really want old school sound though I just open the headers on my Dart and let it sit there and idle away with its choppy cam. That always brings a smile to my face.

The Viper sound had grown on me so much that I prefer that over the Corvette sound. Many of us are diehard V8 converts that took a while to get used to the V10 side exhaust sound. I think it sounds particularly good above 2500 rpm.

Yep, that's pretty close to the magic number for me too. Shame winding up even that far will still easily get you over many speed limits, lol.
