I need to purchase and install a new BCM on my '09 coupe.
I know its behind the gauge cluster.
So who's been there, done that?

I've been close, but didn't pull the whole thing. I took my whole dash out to deal with some HVAC servo issues. The BCM is tucked up in the driver side pretty well, but I think you can get to it without having to take everything apart. You might have better luck taking the driver seat out to give you some room. Then I think it's just three big latch style plugs and probably 4 bolts around the BCM to pull it out I'm pretty sure.

Are you saying that one can reach up from the footwell on driver's side WITHOUT taking dash around the vertical gauge cluster off?

I'm pretty sure that's the case. Taking the panel below the steering wheel off would probably help, but that's easy enough. I think it's just three or four screws and some press in clips to get that one off. It has the pedal adjuster switch on it though, so don't pull too hard since you'll need to disconnect it once the panel is loose.
