Hello my name is joe and I just happened to stumble across a 2004 srt/10 on Oahu. It has around 26k miles and is in okay shape in my book, bad interior for the miles though. I test drive it today and I loved the car the instant torque is like getting hit in the chest I love it.
Things I am worried about:
- needs new tires (5 years old)
-rims are corroded and look bad (replace possibly)
-some oil is present in engine bay (looks like head gasket or valve cover)
- small amount of creaking over bumps
- small squeaking noises form motor (only when cold)
Dealer has already come down in price and we are not far off from a deal he already has agreed to get it tuned up and detailed before deal.
I guess the question I have are there any viper owners on island that can help look at it or know of anyone that can inspect it the dealers say they don’t have a viper specialist. The thing that worries me most is how long it has been sitting the car fax is clean but has 5 owners and didn’t look like anyone drive it much and it has virtually no maint records. Sorry for the long post and thanks for the advice

Welcome to the site. Are you worried about the no maintenance records? 26k isn't alot of miles and if the carfax shows no issues with it, I dont think you have to worry about it breaking down on you anytime soon.

Yes I am worried about the lack of maintenance records. I know what can happen when cars sit for a while and since there is a lot of corrosion on the wheels makes me nervous About what the rest of the car looks like but I will get it up on the rack and check it out. Sounds like it should be a good deal then as long as they fix the leak. The only other thing that felt weird to me was it was kinda boggy below 3k rpm not as responsive but I guess I didn’t have the pedal to the floor just a different feel than what I am used to. Not sure if that is just how the motor runs though.

Thanks for the input you have made me a little more at ease. He just called back and said he will do 39k otd. And let me look at the car up on the lift other than the rear end seals and corrosion in the undercarriage anything to look for.
