Today I had an accident with my 2013 GTS when another driver made an illegal turn in front of me. I want to find a top notch repair shop to get my Viper fixed. I live in North Jersey. Any recommendations would be greatly appreciated. Hoping my Viper family can help.

If you were in my local area, I would certainly want to know the type, location, and extent of the damage before making a recommendation concerning repairs. I have suggested and/or facilitated referrals to several trusted locations....be it a local Viper-experienced body shop to Prefix...with a couple of others in between such as Autoform or Fifth Dimension.

Time, distance, budget, and payer also come into play.

I would suggest you supply more info.

OR...you might call Chuck Tator at Tator's Garage in South Salem, NY for advice.

Here are some pics of the damage. The accident occurred with a driver who was in a rental car. I'm waiting to get the police report before I contact my insurance company. The other driver made an illegal turn so his coverage should pay but I also have uninsured/under insured coverage so cost of repairs shouldn't be an issue. As for distance I would prefer to find someone in the trip state area.

Call Chuck to see if he has a recommendation 914 763 3136

An unknown variable can be the unseen damage to the supporting elements.

That said, feel free to call me about the Prefix option that some have used. 317 402 9013

I agree with Steve - call Chuck, if he cannot do the repairs
locally he can certainly advise you on who he would use.

Admittedly, most of us want to get misadventures behind us as quickly as possible. For a race car, one often repaints them between races !!!

But, for a limited edition, collector car that is out of production, one has to give the solution some serious thought.

The best way to preserve the value of a Gen V Viper might be to ship it to Prefix. While insurers will predictably refuse to play along with this, persistence pays off...especially when negotiating with the other party's insurer over the Viper's diminished value post accident.

Wile it’s in the shop see if you can get a mini gun attached to the hood to take care of those idiots before they hit you, there should be just enough room in the trunk to hold two minutes worth of ammo.

Hi Erik. I’m sorry to hear about the accident and see those pictures. Always heart breaking.

I am in north Jersey and I only use Euro-Tec Motors in Livingston for all of my work. They maintain my ‘00 Viper ACR and my ‘02 Porsche GT2. Only place that touches them for the last 15 years.

Their number is (973) 992-2800. Mario Colasacco is the owner.

I don't think Chuck does bodywork or painting. Look at reputable body shops locally. Check out the cleanliness, yes cleanliness, of their paint shop. A dirty paint shop will show up eventually in the paint. That's a beautiful car. Fight with the insurance company for the right shop. Visit local BMW, Audi, Mercedes dealers and ask them who they use. They are the finicky brands.

Where did you come from with posting info about yourself just on your first post?

Thats a business number so im guessing hes just spamming the
site because someone mentioned an accident.

For the record - JonB (partsrack) is THE go-to for help with
diminished value claims. Whatever you may have heard about
the man, he has helped dozens of members not get taken to
the bank over an insurance claim. Hes another soul you need
to speak with if youre involving insurance...
