Hello, I found what looks like an identification tag riveted to the under side of the hood on the drivers side. It also has a date and some letters hand written. You can only see it when you pop the front of the hood up and look inside without lifting the hood. Does anyone know what this is. My car is a 1994 Red RT/10 with A/C and production number 52. Thank you for your help.

I remember seeing your post when you first wrote. In seeing this again makes me want to take a look on mine, but my original hood was replaced in '97(?) on a warranty claim for cracking.

ASC was the supplier and it looks like they built it 10/12/93

I Have the same tag on my 93 RT/10 which is production number 944. the tag reads
TJ 2047-3 CHR
Mine came off the production line in June 93.
Maybe it is the sequential number of the hoods built
Yours being 2801 and mine being 2047 which makes sense if yours is a 94 model.
That's all I can think of

Thanks for the responses. I asked my Dodge Dealer’s Viper tech if he knew what the tag was. He did not, but he was nice enough to forward a picture of the tag and my question to corporate. This is what came back from them. I find it very interesting. Now I want to know more about the production of the body panels and assembly of the cars.
P.S. I was also informing that because of my low production number in 1994. It was most likely assembled fall of 1993.

Mine says 7-10-93 The guy I bought it from bought the car from a friend. He said it ws one of the earliest 93's made but it looks like the date on the hood says 7-10. Unlike yours with a plate the number is imbedded into the hood. TJ then 2029-3 CHR There is a paper label on the side that says Part # 04602963 CHRYSLER: 2029-3C DATE: 69-9
