I guess I haven't looked in a while, but it felt like gen 1 were still getting the shaft when it came to values. Everyone gushes over the gen 2s because of the GTS and the history there, which is understandable, but the gen 1 is where it started and feels like it should get more respect.

Gen I have always been slightly less valuable as far as I remember. Maybe because they were a bit more basic.

All used car values are going up. As much as I do think the Viper will continue to climb once this printing of money ends. Print more money, everything "goes up in value" because it takes more money to buy anything.

Totally agree with you on this one MoparMap..
Though I'll keep gushing over Gen2s in general and on GTS in particular ;)
I'm a "biased owner" that's right :usa2:

My mom has a gen 1, so I'm a biased "proxy owner" just the same, lol.

Vipers and Gen 1 Broncos have see insane levels of appreciation the last year, massive money printing has to go somewhere, massive money give-a-ways, it's insanity on steroids. My office processed over $70mm in PPP Loans, that were all forgiven, now employee retention credits up to $7K per employee, every quarter in 2021, mean millions of more $$$ more processed to small business owners, exceedingly large piles of cash just dropped from helicopters in stimulus. And I'm about to place a bid on a 2017 that is already at $200K. Feels like the late model, higher end Vipers are destined to be the next Ford GT's.

By coincidence, Hagerty is doing a viper value webinar on Wed May 12th if you want attend (link below).

This is an email I got from my VOA email list (this is put on by Hagerty and on their website so I doubt that you need to be a VOA member to attend).

HOUSTON May 7, 2021 - We all know Vipers are big, brash, powerful, fast and uniquely American. Magazines have documented acceleration, braking and top speed so we know about their superior performance on road and track. But how do they do on the market and which cars are in the highest demand. Join Hagerty valuation experts Dave Kinney and Greg Ingold for a virtual seminar on May 12, 2021 at 8 p.m. EDT / 4 p.m. PDT as they examine the different generations and models and how they've performed when they've come to market.

Very interesting video. Thanks for sharing. I'm pretty surprised that Gen I has appreciated much higher than others. For me it was the first attempt and very crude. But I guess that's where the appeal is.

I bought a new '95 Green/Tan and gave the 8 year old neighbor boy a ride. He said, "Someday I'm gonna buy a Viper". There were many kids back then that loved Vipers. Now they have the money.

What a difference 6-7 weeks make. Values have increased. Glad Hagerty is on it!
