Hey everyone:

Long time fan of Vipers, getting ready to pull the trigger!

Ill get it out of the way, I am 6'9" tall and 220 lbs. Good proportions.

This is happening. I've wanted a Viper forever, and I am determined to fit! LemonSquad is out inspecting as we speak on a Gen 3.

I'm already talking to a metal working friend about a custom seat lowering, but I am unsure if this will be enough. Is anyone out there even remotely close to my height? I found 1 post from someone about my height and he said its a squeeze but a custom mount was all he needed.

Any and all help and info is greatly appreciated!

Buy a convertible!

But there is a seat lowering kit if you need it, you probably will; I want to say it’s available from Dodge but I’m not certain. The Gen IIIs have electrically adjustable foot pedals BTW.

Thank you! Yes its a vert. Ive looked into the lowering kit, but only buys me 2"? Im looking at getting something custom to slam it right to the floor and possibly get more than that.

Have you sat in a Gen III convertible? I don’t blame you at all for wanting every millimeter. But if you put it on the floor how will you safely bolt it to the car? That should be the priority no matter what.

You could also consider modifying the seat bottoms themselves to find another inch or two.

Yes I have. When I did, I was about 3-4" over the windshield.

Yes, the safety is definitely a priority to bolting to the floor. Was hoping my buddy would be able to figure that aspect out, I dont know much about metal working, but I let him know it needs to be solid.

Modifying the seat bottoms is another idea Im playing around with, and also outright getting a new seat that is much thinner.

You can also kind of play with the seat back to get your head down. It's not always the most comfortable depending on where your height is though. I'm just 6', but I have my seat pushed forward a little more so I can recline the back and get my head down where I can look through the middle of the windshield more easily. If you have really long legs that becomes a little trickier though as your knees are on either side of the steering wheel.
