I am new to the Viper scene, I have a 99 RT. Was wondering what are the best programmers you all have used.

I have had good luck with Roe Racing SCT programmer. They will adjust the program to your mods or you can make your on adjustments.

I think as far as actual physical programmers, the SCT might be it. I don't recall if there are any other compatible ones for the Viper, though maybe HP Tuners finally has something. I'm not sure if the VEC3 is compatible with gen 2 systems (or if you can even still buy them), but they are piggyback systems, which don't make as much sense to me if you can just reprogram the actual computer to begin with. Otherwise you're talking a full ECU swap to something aftermarket like an AEM or Motec which is big money.

As for people who actually do the tuning, there are quite a few out there with good reviews and reputations. Roe has a lot of "off the shelf" tunes available for different aftermarket part combinations. Dan Lesser of Viper Specialty does some really nice work as well (I got my cam and tune from him), though it was a little more on the custom side with back and forth datalogs and tune updates on a dyno. If you are not running any upgrades though I'm not sure you'd see a whole lot of increase out of just a tuner like you can get with other cars. The Viper is tuned up pretty good from the factory. Maybe you could run something like a high octane tune that takes more advantage of the fuel you have available around you, but other than that I don't know that I've heard people talk about much for gains if they aren't changing any other parts with it.
