They do run the same controller, but not the exact same calibration.

The PCMs were never encrypted. We've been able to tune Gen 4 & 5 Viper PCMs for years at this point.

    08 hood heat extractor grills

https://www.viperpartsrackamerica.com/index.php/products/2008-2010-dodge-viper-srt10-hood-screen-set $800. Part numbers are listed, and looks like you *might* be able to source them for around $75-80 ea. Bottom line: not something you want to break or lose.

    08 hood heat extractor grills

Yes, they use the standard "Christmas Tree" plastic push pins. When I removed mine, I made sure to get them nice and hot first by taking the car for a drive and really letting them heat soak to make sure they were a little more pliable. Just be gentle (but firm), and you should be able to...

    Moton Club Rebuild

I've heard of people installing the rears that way. Many years ago when I was trying to figure out how I was going to install my MCS shocks with the remote reservoirs (same design as what you have), it was either do that, or get a little more creative with the pass-through vent thingy that...

FS: 05-06 Shortblocks, exhaust, wheels, etc.

Those will only work with the stock manifolds. If you went with headers, you'd have to replace that section with something that would work with whatever headers you decided on.

How to remove gen 4 stub shafts

That tool looks like a winner...much more robust looking than the one I linked above. I think I'll give that one a go too. Thanks for the info/update!

How to remove gen 4 stub shafts

If it is a Gen 4 setup, good luck - they are notorious for being difficult/impossible to remove. You need something that can grab on to the groove that holds the outer snap ring...there is a similar one internal to the diff that is keeping it in place. You'll need a slide hammer to shock it...

    Check engine blinking

Did you tag the rev limiter, or were you just at high RPMs?

    Check engine blinking

Not surprising...what were you doing when you got the code?
  12. S

    Check engine blinking

This - you likely had a misfire, and the PCM went into limp mode. It should go out of limp mode if you shut the car off and restart it, but the check engine light will likely remain. I've had this happen to my '08 on a WOT shift when I briefly tagged the rev limiter.

    For sale Belanger exhaust

No it will not...that setup is designed to bolt up to their headers.

    Supercharged Gen 4

D3 Performance did it with a Gen 5 tuned with HPTuners, but I don't think they post around here. There is a fair amount of info over on other websites about it. I don't think anyone with a Gen 4 has stepped up to the plate to be a test mule, but the tuning would be the same. HPTuners could...

    Supercharged Gen 4

That's not the case anymore...you can do it with HPTuners, but not many people out there know how to do it properly. A full standalone is definitely not required.

Changed oil in transmission and diff.

The testing I'm after is actual, honest-to-god used oil analyses from a Viper V-10, not lab/bench tests. The latter means nothing. As with anything in this world, a high price tag doesn't always equate to the best value. As far as the cost, I actually do care. 11 quarts of Amsoil 0w40...

Changed oil in transmission and diff.

That's a pretty bold statement...is this independent third party testing, or Amsoil's?
  18. S

Changed oil in transmission and diff.

Some of the Mobil 1 oils are overrated, but the 0w40 European formula isn't one of them. Virgin oil analyses (at least the ones I've seen) suggest it is a very good oil. I've never understood the cult mentality surrounding Amsoil, but you are free to spend your money how you choose.

2003 Viper...Water pump noise on Very hot day???

The Gen 3 Vipers use a hydraulically powered radiator fan, which if I'm not mistaken is tied into the power steering system. They are a known point of failure - usually the lines go. As long as the lines don't leak, it is supposedly a pretty good system. I'm guessing that's why you started...

So what kind of issues can I expect after having the battery disconnected for days??

Re: So what kind of issues can I expect after having the battery disconnected for day When I did mine, I just did both windows at the same time. Not sure it would matter either way.

So what kind of issues can I expect after having the battery disconnected for days??

Re: So what kind of issues can I expect after having the battery disconnected for day Key in the on position (car not started), roll the windows all the way down and hold for 5 seconds, release, then roll it up and hold for 5 seconds. Repeat 3 times. Done.

So what kind of issues can I expect after having the battery disconnected for days??

Re: So what kind of issues can I expect after having the battery disconnected for day You should only need to do the window relearn procedure and you'll get a diagnostic trouble code for having the battery disconnected that should go away after a cycle or two.

K&N 69 Series Typhoon Air Box/Filter... Any Issues?

Personally, I wouldn't use it even if they paid me. It looks nice, but that's about the only positive thing I can say about it. The factory air box seals to the hood, the K&N does not. Others that have tried the K&N have noted increased IATs when compared to the factory configuration at...

    Speaker upgrades

Mine is a coupe, and I've heard the same thing about the vert vs. coupe thing as far as putting a sub in the trunk.

    Speaker upgrades

That is an excellent summary, and is exactly what I found when I ventured down this road a couple years ago. I've been happy with the final product - new single DIN head unit (specifically so I could play my iPod), Dynaudio components with passive crossovers (didn't want to deal with active)...
