I actually enjoy driving mine slow, I think it's more relaxing to just enjoy the drive when I can. And it's nice to know I've got the power to let loose if I choose too :)
Wasn't someone making a new gated shifter for the Gen 2's a couple of years ago? I was thinking they were seeing if they was enough demand to start making them over on the alley.
Stupid question about tire age. I know the concerns of old tires but what would you justify as safe and unsafe? I bought mine 4 years ago and I only have about 1400 miles on them and they won't be getting used for probably another year. My car is a project car and I've had health issues along...
Thanks for the info and nice looking garage!
Are the murals made from the same peel and stick vinyl that Fat Heads are made of? I have some made from Fat Head and they work really well. I'm assuming it's the same thing since they are calling it SmartStick®. Thanks!
What size is your photo and about how much does something like that cost? I plan on doing this just not sure where to go to get it done right. Awesome looking photo! Now you just need to remove the Corvette logos on your wall... LOL
Thanks for checking. Mine does the same. I just wanted to check to see if it was how they were designed or if they are just getting weaker with time. Good to know! :)
How much does your door open when you push the button on your GTS without grabbing the handle? Is the door suppose to barely open so you can grab the handle to open it or does it push the door open a few inches?
Also what actually opens the door? Is there a popper or is it an actuator?
Thanks!
Let me go through this step by step because there are a few things that need to be done in order to bolt these mirrors up.
#1. The Gen 3/4/5 mirrors have 3 studs that drop down onto the door and are bolted to the door from the underneath side.
The Gen 2 mirrors are NOT mounted this way...
I'd say it's off about a 1/2" both ways. I need to move the base up from the stock holes about a 1/2" to center it on the door, but I also need to move the entire base back about a 1/4" - 3/4" so I can see out because the a-pillar blocks part of the mirror in the stock location. By doing all...
They are going on a 2000 GTS. If I place them on the door going into the stock mounting holes for the Gen 2 door, they are slightly misaligned and don't look right. If I turn them slightly at the base it looks better on the door, but I need to find a happy medium so they line up on the door so...
Before the end of the year! LOL
No idea really, I'm going to be cutting down the base of the mirror and reshaping it to fit the door. These mirrors have huge bases on them so I want to cut out a good inch to get them to look right. This car is a side project so no telling when I will get to it.
I actually started a thread asking about the Gen 3-4 and 5 mirrors. All of them are the same. I purchased a pair of 2008 mirrors and they will fit with a little bit of work. They actually just plug right in with the Gen 2 harness so nothing extra needs to be done with the wiring. It won't be a...
Below the rocker panel on the outside is how it's attached to the car. On the inside when you open the door, just remove the small plastic caps to find the remaining screws. It's that simple. :)
I'm not exactly sure what the part is that you are talking about. Do you have any pictures? The part I'm thinking of is the pedal adjustment that is controlled by the knob. Is that it?
Thanks!
