I have Gen 5 wheels on my Gen 4. The tire sizes are stock Gen 4 sizes and the wheel and tire are pretty much flush with the fenders. With that said, if you need tires I think you’ll have to buy stock sizes otherwise the tire will either rub the fender when the suspension is doing its thing or...
Thanks for the write-up Steve. If that's not reason enough for everyone to buy one of these battery covers I don't know what is. Per my email with Doug at DSE, this was the first product they produced for the Gen III & IV as they saw it was clearly a weak point. They're definitely a bit on...
I recently installed a battery tender hookup and recall it being a total nightmare unscrewing the battery cover in the trunk. If you haven't had the pleasure of unscrewing this thing, let me tell you, you're in for a treat. Not entirely sure why a metal plate requires 5 bolts that could secure...
It’s just you. Me saying you were a little high was me being sarcastic, you’re very high. The price you’re demanding equates to a non-wrecked car with 20k fewer miles. Even then I’d say that’s generous for a Gen 3. A 2008 coupe is a Gen 4 whereas a 2006 is a Gen 3. Gen 4’s are more desirable...
The most recent sale on BAT for a 2006 coupe with 14k fewer miles and no accident history was 69k. I think you’re a little high. Spend $99 on BAT and let the market decide its value if you’re trying to get rid of it. You can always set a reserve.
I honestly do not know as I didn’t do the install. Next time the wheels are off I’ll update this. But bottom line, Gen V sidewinders fit just fine with Gen IV OEM tires sizes.
I haven't reached out to JonB yet but have heard he's a good source through other threads here, and I think he's actually local to me. But from the posts I've read he opts for a larger 285 width tire for the front and I don't think that's going to work for me. I have Gen V Sidewinder wheels and...
I'm pretty sure all cars have a little bit play in the steering wheel when the car is shut off, I just tried in my Mercedes and there is about an inch of play (and this play has no effect on wheel movement). I remember as a child I was playing in my fathers car in the garage and I tried my...
I have a 2008 and I strictly followed the guidance of products to use in my owners manual for all fluids. I was unsure when all the fluids in the car (other than motor oil) was changed last so I had all the fluids flushed for peace of mind a few weeks ago. Why not stick to what the owners...
Thanks for the write-up. I’m not having these issues but it’s good to know it’s an easy fix if these ever happens.
I wonder how many door operation cycles it takes for that coating to peel off…..
I'm a recent owner as well that has been navigating this forum quietly in the background since my purchase last year. I picked up an '08 vert in viper blue metallic with black stripes, just 1 of 2 made! I too was concerned about basic maintenance and upon investigation/research it was very...
