> You didn't mention the miles, which is always a factor with the Viper regardless of mods.
Good point - it's at 8200 miles with nary a hiccup.
> The other consideration is warranty: Will DC Performance stand behind the install for a set amount of time/miles?
DC performance warrants...
Hey viper-folk,
It's been a year, and time for another car-shuffle at Chez Treynor. We're selling our DC Performance supercharged '03 SRT/10, and I have no well-founded idea of what would be a reasonable price - presumably somewhere in the $50K-$70K range? Anyone with any data on what the...
The title says it all - I'm moving, and in packing up the garage discovered the K&N intake for our SRT/10. We used it for about 1000 miles, then replaced it with a Paxton intake ( :D ) and it's sat in a corner ever since. I'll throw in the stock air filters as well. $80 + shipping to a...
A followup - I took our Viper to the track last night, on the stock run-flats. Ran pretty consistent 11.6 - 11.8 @ 129-130. Traction was indeed a challenge, but a little practice helped a lot. The keys were short-shifting the 1-2 transition to avoid wheelspin at the top of 1st, and a smooth...
It was bound to happen eventually - with the gorgeous weather here in NorCal, both my wife and I were driving our convertibles. She took the SL65, while I opted for our supercharged Viper SRT/10. As fate would have it, we met up for dinner before heading home.. and afterward found ourselves...
The change is small, but it will let me clear the traps at the top of 4th gear. I expect the MPH to go up a few (134-135), ET will still be a function of launch technique.
Update - I've switched to 3.43 rear gears and added a shift light. All that now remains is making it out to the dragstrip and doing some passes. I should be able to do so in the next few weeks...
Re: Headers & Cat Backs.... 10 to 60hp gains claimed.. what is the truth???
My $.02: spend the money on a Paxton, and keep the stock exhaust. You'll get a LOT more power per dollar spent, and the car will remain quiet, smog-legal, and cool underhood.
> Edward 96GTS the building along including landscaping cost about $310k to build...its 5065 sq feet...$61.20 sq ft..
I am going to be ill. Remind me to eventually move to some place with sane housing prices. I've been looking at stuff in my area (Silicon Valley) - 2800 sq ft 10-year-old...
Re: AVOID THIS VENDOR HE CAN\'T BE TRUSTED don\'t delete people need to know
Precisely, Jay - this is a "duh" for serious vendors.
I'll give you an example from last Christmas - I ordered a $1400 camera lens from Adorama. They shipped it UPS. UPS said they delivered the package, but I never...
Re: AVOID THIS VENDOR HE CAN\'T BE TRUSTED don\'t delete people need to know
I side with the original poster as well. A collections problem with a shipper is not the customer's fault nor responsibility. When I order something and it doesn't show up, I don't pay - and I really don't care WHY...
> Not to get off track here (no pun intended), but isn't the SRT your wife's car?
You laugh, but then again, have you seen my wife?
[NB - this was *six weeks* after she gave birth to our second child, and she was doing the Russell roadracing class in open-wheelers]
In all fairness, I *did*...
Sheesh, that car has some power! Your shifts were very mild, the launch was even slightly bobbled, and yet the car just RIPS through the 1/4. You're right, I expect you'll tag low 9's (at least) once you have some seat time and swap the suspension.
Very, very nice.
The stock shift light is not suitable for drag racing - it comes on very early (~5500 RPM). On our SRT the peak HP is made at redline, which means the penalty for short-shifting is several MPH.
The 3-4 shift is the most crucial since you're spending the most elapsed time near redline, so I...
Just an update - Ted May @ Valaya has ordered a set of 3.33 gears for the diff, and I've ordered a shift light to take the guesswork out of the critical 3-4 shift. I'm also going to put some VHT on my DRs and see if I can't coax a bit more traction out of them.
> Then looking at my all...
The rollbar is something Dan Cragin & co cooked up. The track officials were satisfied with it because it has a bar all the way across the top, per NHRA specs.
That ET seems a touch optimistic - your '04 has similar power numbers to mine, what have you run in it? I was hitting 132 MPH (and the rev limiter) about 3/4 second before reaching the timing lights, so another 3-5 MPH seems reasonable once the gearing is corrected. 3.33s should be good for...
Re: NEW Shiftlight Installation (Pics) - Anyone Interested in Group Buy?
> Sorry, group buy is over!
Not to worry - from whom/where do I buy these on an individual basis?
