Ground Clearance 2" Air Lift Kit - trying to find the preCovid $750 kit I posted about ...somewhere

UPDATE: Latest discovery & prelim measurements indicate 110mm OD cups are required which means they have to come from Stance. Vera does not have 110's.

Ground Clearance 2" Air Lift Kit - trying to find the preCovid $750 kit I posted about ...somewhere

UPDATE: there is not even a "finger's width" clearance between the coil OD and the upper inner control arm - need to get some cup dimensions.

Ground Clearance 2" Air Lift Kit - trying to find the preCovid $750 kit I posted about ...somewhere

The "tuner kids" are all into this, also Porsche guys. Saw one in the flesh, little import tuner car splitter was parked and almost laying on the ground. They showed me the 2-3" lift. Viper with splitters, especially ones that extend way forward are nightmare for hits. I'm getting my...

Ground Clearance 2" Air Lift Kit - trying to find the preCovid $750 kit I posted about ...somewhere

Actually I've found a bunch of manufacturers. The term is "Air Cup Suspension" Here are some links: https://www.driftworks.com/row/stanceparts-air-cup-lift-kit-for-coilover-suspension.html#product-options https://d2racing.com/air-cups/?sort=priceasc&page=6 I think the front only w/o tank is...

Hennessy GTS Fascia Splitter Option: need pic or dimensions (want to fabricate)

Here are a couple pics. The fascia has a series of nut plates along the front edge. If the shape of the splitter is a "D", the straight aft edge would not be attached to anything - that's a long unsupported edge. OR the splitter is a curved, maybe 8" wide piece, like a curved strip that extends...

Ground Clearance 2" Air Lift Kit - trying to find the preCovid $750 kit I posted about ...somewhere

This was an all 4 corners kit. Great price. Can't find where I talked about it. It is used with straight spring coil-overs. I seem to recall their website was very detailed about how to determine the fit and what is required to make them work.

    Where to locate trickle charger

The NOCO Genius 1 is a 1 amp 7-step smart chargers (6,7,8,9.... I don't know exactly but all the major pha) It's under $50 and finishes with a maintenance mode. The official Battery Minder is expensive and supposed to be uber good. I keep my GTS on a CTEK, I think it's a 4.3 amp unit - the...

GTS w/Headers: LHS Collector O2 Sensor Wire Routing?

I extended the wiring loom on the RHS to get a good routing but no good idea on the LHS. The O2 sensor is surrounded by frame and floor boards and the only up out of the "hole" is where the header tubes are. I'm sure others have faced this problem and I'm betting have found a solution - I...

Roe VEC1 Technical Questions: 12v source revision, Key-On BARO, 12v Vampire Piercing Connectors

UPDATE: FYI: The 12v VEC1 & Air Fuel LED Display piercing connector tap had failed and was "barely" intermittent (meaning mostly failed.) Also, the eary instructions identified the BK/OR RUN ignition switch wire which was corrected to the DB RUN+START wire. Mine was an early install so I...

    Aftermarket Proportioning Valve Install Question

I remember seeing decades ago in Pegasus Racing Cat I believe, 2 driver adjustable proportioning valves: one was a continuously adjustable knob you turned and the other was a lever with detents at specific settings. The knob you'd have to "tune" while the lever would provide settings which...

Roe VEC1 Technical Questions: 12v source revision, Key-On BARO, 12v Vampire Piercing Connectors

Vampires have a better chance of working if there is some current - otherwise corrosion becomes a "contact resistance" which low current cannot burn thru. Soldering door wires where they break should be problematic since they broke where the bending stress was the greatest. The solder makes a...

Roe VEC1 Technical Questions: 12v source revision, Key-On BARO, 12v Vampire Piercing Connectors

12 volt source: It was an early 96 GTS install with the BK/OR wire as 12V source. BK/OR is 12v in the RUN position only. Roe's installation manual revised the BK/OR Run wire to the DB (Dark Blue) RUN & START wire. WHY? I can see issues with the RUN-START-RUN cycle which if BK/OR, energizes...

    Do I actually need a tune (or a VEC1)?: 96 GTS heads/cam 511 whp (but then there's 675 nitrous)

Did you mean, "...that is why the factory calibrations run on the lean side." ? since rich shuts down cats? Yes, yes, yes: "...it just adds an unnecessary point of failure electrically." 25 years old and while MAP signals soldered, there are still vampire clamps present. Yep, MAP trick is...

    Do I actually need a tune (or a VEC1)?: 96 GTS heads/cam 511 whp (but then there's 675 nitrous)

RE: Open Loop WOT: Please note my thought experiment here could be completely wrong: Cam and heads will make engine breath, VE goes up: With the positive displacement engine now pumping more air, MAP will go down (more manifold vacuum) because of the restriction of the intake system. More...

Gen 2 vs. Gen 5 GTS

Anyone know if later gens had knock and BARO sensors? If you are going to add HP, do you plan to tune the car? If yes, figure out what's involved between Gen 2 and 5. Are you going to tune it or pay someone? There are different levels of tuning: Canned based on specs, Remote dyno, drop off...

    Do I actually need a tune (or a VEC1)?: 96 GTS heads/cam 511 whp (but then there's 675 nitrous)

Thinking I should have changed the title to: Is there any reason to not remove a VEC1? According to Roe website info for Calibrator in 2001: OE tune at high load is excessively rich (11.0:1) with little timing (18*), low and midload, lean and lots of timing (45*) Cam: 224* @ .050, .550" @...

    Trim Screw 06035625 Junkyard Scavenging

I was going thru a small box of Viper parts and I had evidently ordered 2 of these screws 20 years ago. That was the good news. The bad news I still need one. The panel is held with 5 so a missing screw isn't important to fasten the panel. Now needing just one, purchasing a new one for $20...

    Trim Screw 06035625 Junkyard Scavenging

Auveco's site has a terrible search filter (if it even has one - I don't remember at this point.) Good filters are at McMaster and Digikey and I'm sure others. NAPA appears to have the precise fastener with loose washer, its just that the screw head is not a "flat top washer head" which I...

    Trim Screw 06035625 Junkyard Scavenging

They are everywhere, but it would be nice to have a Reverse Lookup parts diagram. There should be a ton of them in the bone yards. Anyone find any easy pickin's? The screw is left 2 in this pic: It holds the dash trim panel under the column. It uses 4 or 5. It is a "Flat Top Washer Head"...

Old thread but remember: Gen 2 (and probably Gen 1) does not have a knock sensor. (and uses KEY ON BARO instead of an actual BARO sensor.)
