Thanks for the tip! I’ll definitely look into those as well as other forms of heat shielding. Question for you that’s unrelated: what’s that air intake box you have on there? Is it custom? Looks awesome!
I'll definitely check those out cause I'm not too keen on the zip tie thing I did. Looks decent but what you showed me looks a lot better and probably better heat protection too. Also, any idea of what that orange goo is on one of the stock plug wires I replaced? Also again, in your opinion does...
Hey everyone! I know this is a long time coming but wanted to give an update to the Belanger header and Corsa install I started in late December or early January. I actually finished the install early February but haven't had time to post pics or anything. I also changed out the spark plugs for...
They extend out the back by just over an inch at the furthest point. And even then with the lateral assembly barely into the rear hangers the center mounting bracket is 1-2" away from the frame hanger.
Hello again everyone. I just finished installing Belanger headers, mid-pipes and cats. I'm now having an issue installing the Corsa exhaust, particularly the rear muffler assembly. Per the instructions Corsa states to begin by inserting the rear muffler assembly into position with lateral...
It must’ve been the OE shield. I don’t plan on running it hard at a track but you mentioning that concerns me about the power steering hose and heat from the new headers.
Oh and when unplugging the 23 year old spark plug wires I noticed one connection had orange goo around the housing. So I’ll be replacing those now too. Lol it’s always something.
Thanks for the info. I’ll be putting on new mounts this weekend. It was a ***** getting the old headers and exhaust off. Plus the previous owner had a cruise control module installed and the box for it is mounted right near cylinder 1 on the driver’s wheel well so that decrease room by about 3”...
Hello again! I’m back with another modification question. I have a Corsa cat back exhaust sitting in the garage and Belanger headers with high flow cats scheduled to arrive tomorrow. I plan on doing the install myself since most say it’s pretty DIY, just takes a little time. My question is this...
I just installed a new mount and cross member last weekend on my 2000 GTS. Details are in the recent post talking about my IPSCO short throw shifter. I picked up the mount and cross member from Reid Performance. Don’t quote me but I’m pretty sure the mount and cross member is the same between...
Hey everyone that's been following. Here's an update on the install:
Once the car was jacked up I removed the transmission cover using a 15mm socket. Transmission was supported by a jack with a 4x4 piece of wood. I then loosened the 15mm bolts for the transmission mount, crossmember and bolt...
Hey everyone. Picked up my 2000 GTS a few weeks ago and I love it. However the shifter is like a semi so I thought about installing the IPSCO short throw with the 2” lever shortener. Console came off fine and got the stock shifter assembly out no problem and put in the new IPSCO one. I screw on...
Hmmmmmm I'm temped because the black would look sick on the red GTS. That and they're all season tires so I could drive it in the winter months, lol. 19s in front and 20s in rear correct. They wouldn't have any problem fitting on a stock 2000 GTS would they?
I was thinking that since I won't track it at all and it'll just be for cruising and some spirited driving here and there that I won't really need the big brake kit. Was just thinking of getting some slotted rotors and better pads.
High flow cat are in the works with the headers and exhaust...
Thanks! It drives amazingly, and surprisingly rides a little nicer than the 2015 Z06 did. Suspension feels great. Already have new OEM rear hatch struts on the way from Parts Rack. And have planned a new power steering pulley and bracket, new plugs/wires and IPSCO short throw in the future...
